KMM Games was a branch of Kennedy Miller Mitchell, an Australian film and television production company co-founded by Mad Max and Babe creator George Miller. The studio was founded before the collapse of Australian studios Krome and Team Bondi, however many former team members of the latter became employees of the studio in 2011. God of War II writer and director Cory Barlog served for a period as Creative Director of the studio and Brendan McNamara, of L.A. Noire fame, was working with the studio on his project, The Whore of the Orient.
In October 2011, KMM shut down its Brisbane studio after finishing developing on the game adaptation of Happy Feet Two; the subsequent failure of the film led to KMM firing over 85% of the staff at Dr. D Studios, the digital production studio behind the film and where KMM Games is based.
KMM Games closed down and ceased production on Whore of the Orient in early 2013.
