    I downloaded Kodu

    No Caption Provided
a few days ago. For those with their faces covered is smouldering hot tar, Kodu was the DIY community game that Microsoft blabbered about at E3, featuring a live stage demo from a "REAL 10 YEAR OLD GIRL" who looked about 14 years old, creating her own world which other players could then explore.

    Immediately the pressure was on.

Every time I got stuck with an object I felt like a fool. An alleged 10 year old could master this game, here was me struggling to reprogram a small robot to walk towards a castle. Oh the shame.

I feel slightly overwhelmed by Kodu. I don't really know what I should be doing, especially as nobody else seems to have the game, so my potential to create and share is severely hindered. It looks neat though. No doubt the tools I have clumsily used to hammer in my official mark of confoundation will be later be confiscated by a more worthy architect, sharpened and used to construct a working mod of Final Fantasy 7. I have severe doubts as to how successfully a young player could navigate this game, as behind the cutesy aesthetic is a demonic mix of limitless potential. In a similar way to Little Big Planet I imagine the entertainment value from Kodu will max out when the game is being experienced by a pair of clowns under the influence of alcohol. We made a dinosaur skeleton that was on fucking FIRE!!!!

    IN OTHER NEWS

    • I finally got my hands on a copy of ICO. Playing it now.
    • My World Of Warcraft spree has all but ended. I spent but a single hour in Azeroth this week - managed to stealth/die my way into Ironforge, hid in a small house and spammed the alliance chat windows with my "LET THE EXECUTIONS BEGIN!!" yell macro. They were not amused.
    • Excited for Battlefield 1943!!
    • Enjoying the Gears Of War 2 4th title update, they fixed some more annoying multiplayer issues.
    • Wimbledon Final was epic. Roddick is a hero.

    That's all for now

    Thanks For Reading

Stealthed and died in Ironforge, eh?  Tsk tsk.  Of course, the Horde have it easy.  Alliance can't pull that kind of shit...what with all those invisible snipers inside the walls in Orgrimmar.  =  /

Lol, interesting bro. I was thinking about buying Kodu yesterday, I'm just not sure what I'd do with it & I don't want to waste money. I could use those 400 points on Comix Zone or... something. I really want to like Kodu.

I can only begin to tell you of my former griefing in MMOs. I never played WoW, but I did play FF11 when I was 12-14. I pissed off quite a few people in my day :)

It pained me to see my boy andy roddick lose AGAIN. I've seen him play live and his game is masterful. Hes so much to watch and such a nice guy (unless he loses :P)

He outplayed roger today, but roger is just a winner, plain and simple.

Roddick always chokes. He's my favorite, but I hate him.

We should play some 1943 when it comes out :)

Kodu looks sweet; I am going to download it when I get back.

Federer did win the game but Roddick was an extremely formidable opponent. It was a great, epic, long-winded game, for sure.

I have Kodu, and DAMN there are a lot of made levels. I like the simple command system, but sometimes I'll look at one of the levels and think "why did they put this page in?" or some such and get frustrated.

I'm going to try and make a Geometry Wars clone for practice

Hey...I really should have trademarked the way I end my blogs. *sigh*

Anyway, jokking aside, that 10 year old girl was a robot, you know that, constructed for the sole purpose of figuring out how the fuck to use Kodu.

Would've been awesome if the alliance could actually read what you spammed, but awesome nonetheless.
