    Overview

    Kuon no Kizuna is an adventure game that was created by FOG inc which follows the story of a high school student named Takeshi Mikado in modern day Japan. One day Mikado meets a strange transfer student at his school named Manyo Takahara, who's arrival begins a series of strange occurrences. Bizarre murders begin happening in the town and Mikado starts having nightmares involving memories of things from the distant past that he couldn't have experienced. Eventually Mikado discovers that he and Takahara are reincarnates of two lovers from a thousand years ago who have been fighting the focuses of an evil god as they are reborn over and over again. The story jumps between modern day Japan and the different past lives of the protagonist, ranging from the Heian, Genroku and Edo periods, with the player's choices effecting the outcome of the story.

    The title was initially released on December 3, 1998 for the original PlayStation and was later ported to the Dreamcast under the name Kuon no Kizuna: Sairinshou in 2000 with additional content. Since then, the game has been released on a number of platforms such as the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PC and mobile devices.
