I am not a native English speaker. How do you guys pronounce L.A. Noire?
Every time I hear someone says L.A. Noire, I think I hear them say: "el anal war"
Is that the correct pronunciation?  :D

IDK, I like that hard "O" sound when I say it. I could see saying something more along the lines of "new" though.

Ell-Eh-No-Waa (Pronounce 'Noire' like the first part of the hoover thing 'Noo Noo' from Teletubbles, followed by the sound Bruce Lee makes when hitting someone-just less violent.)

The L.A. part is just the letters," L" and "A".  Its a nickname for Los Angeles (Spanish!) and has been for a long time.   Noire is French (well it's noir with an extra e) for black.  Have a listen:

Like how it's said in French. I picked my copy up at Walmart yesterday (360, they didn't get any PS3 copies) and the guy said LA Nor. Annoyed the OCD inside of me.

    It's a play on words.

"La" is the feminine version of "le" so instead of "le noir" it's "la noire."  Since Los Angeles abbreviates to L.A, Bondi changed "Noir" to "Noire."

It's definitely "el ay nwar" or "nwahr," but I'm not sure how to tell you which because it depends how you read those words on the left. Are you trying to say "noire" isn't pronounced like the English word "war"? If so, absolutely.

I wanted to borrow the word "repertoire" to say it's pronounced like the "-toire" only with an n sound instead of a t, but some people don't say the r in that word and I think it should be included in noire.

Regardless, noire is a one syllable word.

    This.

In IPA  trancription,  /nwar/, for those of you who know Phonetics and Phonology. The <e> is there because it's the feminine of "noir" and it's silent, as all (or most) of feminine markers in French. Since L. A. is a city, thus "la citée" in French, it seems appropriate. The only difference between French and English is that in English, the /r/ is not velarized, i.e. /ʁ/.
