Has anyone noticed that if your hat falls off in an action sequence, and it falls to a place you can get to you can either keep your hat on or off depending on whether you go get your hat or not? And in one instance your partner's hat gets knocked off and if he doesn't go pick it up, he keeps it off for a while too?
Anyone notice this?

When your hat falls off
I thought it was pretty hilarious that you will actually scoop up your hat if it falls off. I guess that hat shootin' technology from Red Dead Redemption paid off.
You mean while still in the middle of an action sequence? I pretty much always lose it during the fisticuffs, but I never bothered to try and put it back on. Plus once the fight was over Cole usually had his hat respawned back to his head. Your partner would lose it a lot more because of the car chases and him poking his head out, and would keep it off until the end of the sequence, but he too would also always have it re-equiped afterwards. Least that's how its always been for me.
It is a 12 dollar hat after all.
Also I have to add how fucking awesome it was when you went incognito. This game is pretty damn good.
@jozzy said:idk about that- I thought RdR was first with that, but once my homicide partner lost his hat for a whole case. That was mind blowing.Ok, you might have have convinced me to pick this game up. This attention to detail must be rewarded. This game is the first to have actual hat physics. I'll let you sit there and imagine the implications
Did anybody else feel like you could definitely pick your hat up when you saw the quick look before it was released?
I must have been screaming for 5 minutes because Brad didn't walk over to check if he could pick it up, how can he live with himself?

Hey guys, if you both lose your hats you can pick up your partners and wear his.
That......is fucking incredible.
Did not know you could do that :O I lost his hat during one of the gang fights, didnt go to pick it up and it materialised back on his head in the next cut-scene. Magic hat!

After the first fist fight I lost my hat, after the fight was over just for shits n giggles I walked over to it with the intention to press X and see if he would pick it up, before I got there however he scooped it up and put it back on his head.Same thing happened to me. I was like "if I can put this hat back on, it's GOTY." I was astonished to find I didn't even need to press a button.MINDBLOWN.
I lost my hat climbing up the library roof.I lost it about four times because I am horrible at that balancing business. I went back for it each time.Went back for it.
The fourth time, it fell onto an unreachable platform. So I re-loaded.

I had no idea that you could pick up your hat, I always fought my ass off so I specficily didn't lose it.
On a serious note, all of the hats look like they're one or two sizes too big for the character heads. All of the heads look one size too big for their bodies too.
lol me too, in one of the first fistfight as a detective my hats got knock up and then when I was looking for evidence right after and walked over my hat, I picked it up. My mind was blown ahahI thought it was pretty hilarious that you will actually scoop up your hat if it falls off. I guess that hat shootin' technology from Red Dead Redemption paid off.

DLC Hats.
I would buy that. Give Valve some competition!...
@NapalmWell, the characters look kind of shrunken. They look like they need to be stretched out just a little bit to be proportionally correct. On a serious note, all of the hats look like they're one or two sizes too big for the character heads. All of the heads look one size too big for their bodies too.
I, like the rest of you, have a mad strange attachment to the hat. The fact that you can put them back on after fights (or during in my case) is damn GOTY material!
I was most impressed though when my partner and I (I think it was with Roy) were car chasing some goons, and said partner sticks his head out to start shooting and loses his hat to the wind. I had to stop playing after that. Mind was blown out my ass. Hats rule.
