Endurance racing is racing a track for very long periods of time. An example of endurance racing in video games would be the 24 hour Le Mans in GRID.
A lap is one circuit around a race track. This is featured in many, but not all racing games.
A staple of almost any racing game, the pit is the on-track location where players fix their cars, as well as modify their setups to account for changing track conditions.
The wheels are already in motion when you begin the race, there's no turning back.
In auto racing, standing starts have the cars or go-karts stationary in the starting grid as the race begins. To commence racing in a standing start, a set of red lights is needed before the green one goes off to start the race.
Players compete against the clock to secure the fastest time possible. This is often added to racing games for extra replay value and typically requires a higher degree of skill.
Tire wear is when a tire gets worn out and looses grip.
