Lance Armstrong is a retired professional road cyclist who is known for winning the Tour de France seven times between the years 1999-2005 and being subsequently stripped of the titles due to doping. In late 2012, Armstrong was embroiled in a scandal when USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) released a report detailing his extensive use of blood doping (EPO) throughout his career. After this, he was stripped of his seven titles by the UCI and banned from the sport in October 2012.
Cycling Manager series developers Cyanide renamed Armstrong to "Lance Neilstrung" whenever he appeared in their games as they could not obtain the legal rights to use his real name.
Since his retirement from the sport of cycling at the beginning of 2011, he has appeared in records pertaining to previous winners of the Grand Tours (in particular the Tour de France) under the above psuedonym, though this will be removed for the 2013 installment of the series.
