They Should've Probably Get An HD Remake Right Now.
I know the history between Tomb Raider and its 5th entry, The Angel of Darkness. I agree with the critics and I know it's not exactly Core Design's fault for almost ruining Lara Croft's chances of being considered the best in the series since the franchise took a stale starting from Tomb Raider III. I thought Angel of Darkness would see the light of day as the series made its PS2 debut, but I was a little excited (not so much) and I was worried that this could be the end of Croft as we know and still loved. But it came out late and unfinished as it looks, Core Design was dead on arrival seeing this is the final Tomb Raider game for the ailing company, I'm sure hope it should revive somewhere in the future.
The game was alright, but I suggest if Crystal Dynamics (who now owns the Tomb Raider license) can think of something better like make an Angel Of Darkness HD Remake and try to remove some of the bugs and glitches. Also, my wish is to update new graphics, even add some new tombs that were missing from the panned retail release because you can't make a Tomb Raider game without a secret mysterious tomb and unlock new secrets beyond the realm. There's no telling she'll explore next.
But my biggest issue is: why did they ditched Lara's fun-filled Dino-sized adventures into somewhat a Metal Gear Solid-like Stealth game? I seriously don't get it because Lara Croft is still the queen of not only her moniker as "The Tomb Raider" herself, but in my heart, the queen of the jungle. Remember she has those crazy outfits in past titles (like the Bomber Jacket from Tomb Raider II). But her look in AoD feels a bit different much like she's a doppleganger of sorts.
I really hope that former employees at Core should be apologized for treating Lara Croft the wrong way for this flop to happen and hope this will never happen again once Crystal Dynamics starts to breath new life with the recently released and 2nd rebooted "Tomb Raider" and start getting back to more dinosaur hunting.
