    Overview

Larson is a mercenary and former US marine hired by Jaqueline Natla to retrieve the Scion alongside his adversary, Lara Croft. The two have had frequent encounters during their adventures and have a (mostly) hostile relationship.

    Events

    Tomb Raider (1996)

In Calcutta, India, Larson meets up with Lara to offer her a contract to retrieve the pieces of the Scion on behalf of his employer Jaqueline Natla. When Lara arrives to the Tomb of Qualopec in Peru to retrieve the first piece of the Scion, Larson shows up and, after a brief argument, is knocked out by Lara when he pulls out his gun.

Larson makes an appearance in Egypt near the Sanctuary of the Scion in an attempt to ambush and kill Lara. His plans are unsuccessful as Lara kills Larson during their final encounter.

    Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Larson returns as a secondary antagonist in Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Despite being physically similar to how he was portrayed in the original game, and shares the same role as before, Larson is less aggresssive towards Lara and tries to reason with her on several occassions.

Larson first appears in Calcutta to introduce Lara to Jaqueline Natla, who gives Lara a job to recover the lost pieces of the Scion. Due to her father searching for the Scion throughout his life, Lara quickly accepts the offer and arrives to recover the first piece of the Scion in Peru.

When Lara recovers the first piece, Larson appears to convince Lara to hand it over to him. After rejecting this order, Larson attempts to knock Lara out but has difficulty due to her acrobatic skills. When Larson pulls out his shotgun to kill her, Lara subdues Larson and takes his shotgun.

At the end of the Egypt level, Natla, Larson & two mercenaries (Kold Kin Kade & Jerome Johnson) confront Lara and collect the pieces of the Scion from her. After revealing their intentions to kill her, Lara makes an escape and later follows Natla's boat - which heads for the Lost Island.

After Lara sneaks onto the island and through Natla's mines, she retrieves her weapons and attempts to make her way further into the mines only to be stopped by Larson, who offers to let Lara walk away. But because of her devotion to her father's legacy, Lara is forced to kill Larson, despite never killing a person before, to continue further into the mines to confront Natla and her hired goons.

    Appearance

In the original Tomb Raider, Larson wears a red shirt, blue jeans and brown boots. He can be briefly seen in the intro cutscene wearing a brown vest over his shirt. Larson is equipped with a revolver when encountered during combat.

For Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Larson's shirt is blue as opposed to being red in the original. Instead of using a handgun during combat, Larson's signature weapon is the shotgun - which can be used by Lara after the Peru level.

    Trivia

    • During the interactive cutscenes with Larson in Tomb Raider: Anniversary, he initially tries to subdue Lara as opposed to kill her. This could imply that Larson had a relationship with Lara in the past, or has had a connection with her in some way.
    • Larson replaces the Cowboy for Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
