Last Ninja 2 is an action-adventure game that follows from the original The Last Ninja. Like Home Alone, the action has been transplanted to New York for the sequel, but the protagonist's proficiency with deadly weapons and traps is still present. The game also retains the isometric perspective of the first game, and features a number of new weapons.
The game was released on many of the same home computer systems that saw The Last Ninja, including the 16-bit computers that received the Last Ninja Remix enhanced remake. It also saw a NES version, courtesy of Beam Software and Jaleco, but this game was confusingly labelled as The Last Ninja.
The limited edition of the game included a ninja mask and a plastic shuriken.
