I was thinking of buying L4D 2 soon. What i want to know is if there is any real reason to buy the original? I have heard something about the campaigns of 1  being ported to 2 but i may be wrong. So what do you think? Is 1 just 2-3 more campaigns and do you know they said if those will be moved over for sure?

If you're getting it on console I'd say yes just because it's still a great game. The campaigns of the 1st game are being ported to the 2nd on PC continually, but I don't think there's any estimation when they'll all be out on 360.

Practically all of the campaigns from the first are either available in 2 or will be available soon, so hell no, you should stick with 2 even at the crazy prices you could probably pick the first game up for during a sale. You also have all the new weapons and infected in the versions from 2.

Don't get the first one, just get L4D 2 on PC and you will be sorted.

I really don't see any reason to go back at this point. Everything you want from the first game will be making its way to the second. All you will find by going back is an older with less weapons, less infected, and a different crew. I couldn't advise you to buy it now in good conscience.

I liked the campaigns and characters of the first more, but if they're bringing all of that into 2 I guess that settles it.

Yep. L4D2 feels unbalanced when it comes to the special undead. Having three special undead all spawning at the exact same time while a hoard of zombies attacks is a little infuriating.
