Left Alive is a survival-action shooter by Square Enix that is set in the world of the Front Mission series.
When should this get a Quick Look?
So I was curious what the hell this game actually was and it seems like it's trying really hard to be like Metal Gear, which i'm okay with. I dont expect it to be anywhere near as good but it looks interesting at least.
Square Enix recently released a pretty lengthy gameplay video if anyones interested.
If Front Mission Evolved is anything to go by this will be B game material in a lot of ways but that game seemed pretty fun if i'm being honest.
I wonder if there's something to this game that hasn't been shown yet, because from the gameplay footage it seems like a really stiff old fashioned 3rd person shooter, and not much else.
Granted we don't really get shooter campaigns of any kind any more so that appeals to me, but still it seems kinda uninspired.
This game sorta looks like they took the art , music and sound effects from metal gear and mixed it with the alpha protocol animations.
This looks like the kind of charming jank that you just don't see as much of anymore. I actually kind of like the idea of having a 'mech game" where you're on foot for a large part of it. It makes the mechs seem like a big deal, and the overall atmosphere is on point.
No love for Xbox on this one is driving me insane. I just noticed this game, while I’m trying to debate between metro Exodus or Dirt Rally 2.0. I’d easily have dropped both for this game.
I don't know why, but the gameplay gives me a valkyria chronicles vibe. Eventhough this is real time
This looks like some sort of mix of MGS5/Survive taking place in a weird Division/Ace Combat world that should have released in about 2012 and I'm kind of way into that? It looks fairly clunky and the kind of bullet spongy enemies are a little of a turn off, though it at least look like it's in service of really making you use your equipment(doesn't seem like they is any sort of easy stealth kill from behind like in 99% of games with stealth in them). The Wanzer stuff looks reeeaaallly clunky with slow the movement speed is, even for the style of mech combat they are going for.
I'll definitely check this thing out when it comes out but I don't imagine it will do particularly well with either sales or critics. At least they aren't putting the Front Mission name in the title this time, sure been a long time since an actual Front Mission game.
I'd like to see a Quick Look just for the humor from the GB guys. This game isn't doing so hot in Japan.
Not heard of this until now, but I'm kinda into with the art of Yoji Shinkawa and and the style of Russia by the way of Japan filtered through anime. Looks like a low rent hybrid of MGSV and The Division oddly enough.
I'd like to play this but I'm not sure it's worth $90AUD (Steam RRP)
@vextroid: The game got a 44% discount after a few days in Japan so it will likely go on sale quite soon after release in the west too.
Obviously theres a reason for that, the game seems to have a lot of issues, i'm still curious though. I bought Devil's Third when it was half-price (after a week) and had an okay time.
