Legends of Future Past was an text-based MMORPG set in the world of Andor, particularly the surroundings of the hub city Fayd, part of the in-house "Shattered Realms" campaign setting. It was the first commercial MMORPG to make the transition from the CompuServe and Tymnet networks to the Internet and was released in 1992 by NovaLink.
Among it's notable features was an resource gathering and crafting system, where players would mine, hunt and gather plants to craft and enchant weapons and armor. Many of the game's world events happened in real-time, conducted by it's Game Masters, who also continuously expanded the world with new areas and creatures.
Legends of Future Past neither had predetermined classes nor a level cap, players could freely choose which skills to invest in and reach levels in the hundreds.
