LucasArts Announces LEGO Star Wars III
LucasArts has announced that Traveller's Tales is developing a third game in the successful LEGO Star Wars line. This year's outer space block mash-up will be known as LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.
As you might have guessed from the title, the game is based on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, which currently airs on Cartoon Network. The game will take from both seasons of the show and will include additional battle modes, the ability to command squads, and additional attacks and moves.
The game is in development for the Wii, DS, PSP, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It's scheduled to be released in the fall of 2010.

So sick of the LEGO series, and IMO, the game started to become good after they stopped making the Star Wars games. I hated the "combat" in those- I know it's not supposed to be God of War or anything, but it was boring as hell to just mash-mash-mash with your weak lightsaber. Don't get me started on the guns either. I'm certainly not the target audience for this one, but don't you think that kids have had their fill with 5 (6 if you include Complete Saga) different LEGO games? At least the upcoming Harry Potter tie-in is actually doing some different things with the well-trodden formula; what is this honestly going to bring to the series?
Understandable, because it will be profitable. But still. DUMB. I guess the sad part is that we are no longer the target market anymore whatsoever.
" Why the hell are they constantly making these shitty lego games instead of making games that people actually want..Jedi Knight, Battlefront, etc. "Because parents and kids will buy the SHIT out of it.
Please. No more Lego Games. Especially lego games based on crappy CG spinoffs of already terrible films, which are spinoffs of 3 good films. We need more Jedi Knight action.
Still gutted Indiana Jones 2 didn't come out for the PS2, looks like this won't either. My son loves these games
I defend Lego Indiana Jones, saying though a bit of a sell out and cheesy, it was still fun. I am defending Lego Harry Potter, due to the world being condusive to this type of game.
But maybe I'm crazy, what the hell else can you do with a THIRD Lego Star Wars? Lego sex?

" That ship in the story is soooo expensive. Costs half a soul. But it's pretty freaking awesome... :) "That looks like the midi-scale one, which isn't so bad.
The bigger one though, much cash.
Kind of disappointed to see so many people trashing the Clone Wars series. While primarily aimed at kids, it's had some geniunely good episodes. Miles better than the prequel movies.. Any of the episodes based around the Clones themselves and their struggles are highly recommended.
I don't want to have anything to do with any Star Wars related stuff if it doesn't take place in between episodes 4 and 6.
What!?! That series is the better than the prequels." Let me say this using a topic from last week. That TV series and the movie its based on, is fucking retarded. So therefore, ergo, visa vi, this game is fucking retarded. "

Because they are good games and people want them.

They are actually very good. You should see them.
I would be more interested if (and I think we all know this will happen) this wasn't going to be rendered obsolete by "Lego Star Wars IV: The Complete Clone Wars Saga".
We would probably think so, as hardcore gamers; but my Mom actually plays the Lego games, and she wouldn't want change. My mom and kids are probably more the target demographic. Casual gamers." They really need to change the formula for these Lego games now. It's the same crap over and over again. What they need to do is make Lego Island 3 dammit. "

I might be remotely interested in this if it was based on the awesome traditionally animated Clone Wars series that aired between episodes II and III, not the crappy computer animated The Clone Wars series they're airing now. Not that I have much interest at all in the Lego Popular Franchise franchise anymore.
You must be out of the loop, considering the currently running CW series is everything people have been asking for in a cartoon series forever. Serious storylines involving darker topics than you're used to seeing for kids TV, lots of action, great storytelling without talking down to the viewer...it's a lot better than you might think." F#*k I hate those games... I have Lego Star Wars 2 and refuse to put it with my other games because it's such a shame. Wow!.. LucasArts couldn't have done a better job at turning me off Star Wars, I'm actually starting to dislike the Original Trilogy now, just because I know George Lucas had some kind of involvement in it!.. Did you know if Lucas had his way on "A New Hope" Luke Skywalker was going to be a 60 year old man?.. Eeeeh!
