Career
Len Wiseman's involvement in films was initially primarily in props assistance, before he made his directorial debut with vampire blockbuster Underworld. He continued with the franchise, directing its sequel Underworld: Evolution, as well as producing the series' prequel, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. In the first two films, he worked with his now-wife,
Kate Beckinsale, as well as her daughter, Lilly Mo Sheen. In addition, he has also directed the fourth installment of the Die Hard films. His only game credit to date was in the 'Special Thanks' segment in
Underworld: The Eternal War, along with his wife. However, his links in the games industry are set to expand, as he is rumoured to have signed on to direct the film adaption of
Gears of War.
Cliff Bleszinski will be involved as executive producer of the project. In April 2009, his involvement in the film's production was thrown into doubt, after studio hierarchies decided to reduce the budget significantly, as well as re-assessing the direction the story was to be taking.
