Overview
Lethal Company is an indie, comedic, sci-fi horror, first-person survival horror game developed and published by Zeekerss for the PC as an Early Access title on October 23, 2023.
Focused on co-operative online multiplayer play with rogue-lite elements, Lethal Company puts players as contracted workers collecting scrap material from abandoned, hazardous moons close to The Company in order to meet their profit quota and prevent being terminated.
The game focuses on risk-reward gameplay, as players must reach and explore procedurally-generated labyrinths while contending with numerous hazards, poor weather conditions, a time limit, and a limited inventory (with players only able to carry a limited amount of scrap). Although players start with no items or weapons, they can purchase (and rarely find) items such as flashlights, blunt weapons, and stun grenades.
Similar to Phasmophobia, the game became popular in its original release due to its co-operative gameplay, humorous and horrifying situations, and use of proximity-based voice chat (with players able to use walkie talkies for longer-ranged chats).
