I'm brand new to the world of PS3 and am slowing building up my collection of essentials. I know I am going to get LBP2, but would there be any reason for me to get LBP1 first, or at all? Thanks.

The first game is much better, i would start there if i were you.

I absolutely disagree. With LBP2 you can play all community level built for LBP1 and 2, so there is no real need for LBP1. Unless you really want to play the single-player levels of LBP1.

Yeah, the only reason I can see is for the single player levels (which aren't bad) and the costumes that you unlock by playing them. Up to you to decide if thats worth the price of admission.
