Lost Cause
I entered into Lost Planet: Extreme Condition expecting nothing more than a Starship Troppers clone in the snow. What I got out was a very japanese game with very stupid story and bad controls.
The story of Lost Planet is as follows, in the year T.C -80 Humans have left earth for no reason to venture out into the galaxy and find a planet named E.D.N III to live on, but shorty after they set up shop they discover the Acrid weird insect like creatues ranging in size and stupidty. Well Human's flee leaving some poor people behind who become SNOW PIRATES......then humans come back after they have developed giant mech suits to fight the Acrid and thats about it, if you where expecting something with a little more depth the game dosen't really have any, you just go from area to cutscene to area to cutscene fighting off wave after wave of stupid looking Acrid.
The game is told out through a generic looking teen named Wayne who watches his father die at the beginning of the game by Big Green or someting, then you get knocked unconsious and found by 3 shady stereotypes with names i cant remmember so lets call them Dreadlocks, The Girl and Mr Evil they serve no point other than to give you missions that you are teleported into one after another.
Too top this all off the controls are slow broken and bad, for a 3rd person shooter to have your aim thing move at about the same speed as a snail, while enemy's move at light speed do massive damage and you can only dodge about a meter to the left or right, This is stupid because enemy's will home in on you and there fucking huge. I got through most boss fights never letting go of the fire button until i ran out of bullets and threw grenades at them while they as you would expect moved at light speed around enclosed area's.
I digress, Lost Planet is not a very good game sure you might enjoy it if you enjoy arcade games and such but that dosent mean it should be ported to home consoles.
