While looking at the list of available games on the apple website, it appeared to me that there aren't many full-on, high-budget games! (AOE 3, The Sims)
I was saddened by this, but did notice absolutely f-'in loads of small-time games.
Which are the best in your opinion?
Also, with the dawn of Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Spore, and The Sims 3 fast approaching (in some cases), which are you most looking forward to?
Mac
Platform »
The Macintosh (Mac) line of personal computers is designed and developed by Apple, Inc. - formerly Apple Computer, Inc. It runs macOS, a Unix operating system. Its current version, macOS 13.4 "Ventura" was released on May 18, 2023.
What's your favourite Mac game? And which do you look forward to?
Once i do get a Mac im getting Diablo III for it. and really thats it. in this day and age its all about the consoles!
I hear that man. I've got an xbox360 and love every second I'm on it. I think things like 'Spore' are definitely going in the right direction for mac/PC based games, but it seems to be a dying breed.
Diablo III - I love you.
Yeah, Boot Camp emulates everything, but to me there's something lame about having to do that.
Running horrible Windows on a Mac is not my idea of fun. - Plus games in a Mac environment seem to be much more reliable.

"
so, what, it's unreliable, crashes and stuff?
and how is your post count 3 when you've made 4 posts in this topic alone?
I have no personal experience of Boot Camp, I'm just saying the premise of emulating an entire complex OS inside an emulator, to me at least, seems a fatiguing, CPU heavy palaver.
I should really look into it, but for me, it's by far better to have pure Mac gaming.
I've just moved to Mac for the first time about a month ago, I totally recommend it! It's amazing.
And dude... it's a mystery. My forum posts are in another dimension, where up is down, and down is up.
Restricting choices to Mac-first games only, my favourites are (I can't choose one):
Close Combat
F/A-18 Hornet 2.0
Spelunx (I'll do a big write-up on this game soon)
Dark Castle
Oni
SimCity 2000
...And a whole bunch of shareware games from the mid-90s.
There hasn't been a really good Mac exclusive for a loooong time, but there is a revival of simultaneous Mac & PC releases happening at the moment.
The Mac game that I'm most looking forward to is Spore.
Edit: Boot Camp doesn't emulate anything - it enables you to run Windows on a separate partition on your hard drive, with complete and native hardware support. Perhaps you are confusing Boot Camp with the virtualisation apps Parallels and VMWare Fusion, which can run Windows within the Mac operating system.
I am confusing Boot Camp with Fusion! Cheers for the knowledge dude.
I don't know any of those games off the top of my head save for SimCity 2000 obviously. - I'll have to check these out.
Yeah man - roll on Spore!
