It's in the Gameplay
This years Madden marks yet another installment to a franchise that has had more dips, jukes, and spins than Chris Johnson himself, but does this one manage to hurdle past all the annoying glitches and kinks? The answer is somewhat mixed, but this years Madden is definitely the best one in recent years.
The gameplay, with the addition of Gameflow and the new locomotion system, the gameplay is now quicker and more intuitive, and most importantly more realistic. Now, I can drive my Eagles down the field without even opening the playbook (save once or twice because the AI picks some whacky plays. The locomotion system allows you to move like they do in real life and gain momentum as you go, although I decided to keep the sprint button. Also, there;s far better commentary that keeps you listening (at least for the first few weeks) to what Gus Collinsworth has to say.
Then there's franchise and superstar mode, which is virtually the same, but I miss the days where I could actually manage my superstar via mail from my parents and press conferences, like back in 06. Either way, at least your superstar starts off with a fighting chance now (you can boost it up to 70 ovr.) Online is good as always, but be prepared for some hefty matchmaking, the menus are confusing when you start off. Team play, which was actually done on purpose this time, is a great addition which actually works.
All in all, this was better than 2010, and a definite buy for anyone who has a football jersey in their house.
