This is the second stage of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game. In it, Sonic must endure raising and falling spikes, fire, fire spitting statues, rivers and waterfalls of lava and a variety of enemies.

Marble Zone is the second level from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. It is a ancient underground complex, that has been flooded with lava. Above the ground grass grows over the marble buildings below the ground. The zone is also a maze of moving of moving platforms and spiked plates.

In the zone many bricks can be destroyed for scoring points, sometimes up-to 30,00 can be collected. The zone also contains many shortcuts and walls that can be destroyed for extra rings and shields.
