Margaret

Overview

Margaret is Igor's assistant in the Velvet Room in Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. She becomes the new Velvet Room attendant after her sister Elizabeth leaves in order to rescue the protagonist of Persona 3. She feels that Elizabeth is on a fool's errand and fails to understand what it is that she sees in him, though over the course of her Social Link, she gradually comes to understand.

Much like her sister, Margaret records Yu Narukami's Personae in the compendium so that he can call upon his desired Persona as he wishes. She also handles the new Fusion Forecast mechanic, whereby fusing specific Personae on certain days will grant the resultant Persona additional stats and/or skills.

If certain requirements are met, she will also appear as a formidable optional boss, also having the ability to summon Personae. After her defeat, she reveals the reason why she fought; to understand why her sister left the Velvet Room. Having learned what she sought, Margaret is able to see the reasoning behind Elizabeth's actions, and she promises Yu that if necessary, she would do for him what Elizabeth is doing for the previous game's hero. Unlike the optional battle with Elizabeth in Persona 3, the player is allowed to confront Margaret with a full party of four characters.

Social Link

In order to begin Margaret's Social Link, the player must visit the Velvet Room when his/her Knowledge stat is at Expert. Margaret's Social Link is unique in that in order to rise in rank, the player must fuse a Persona with a skill that it would not learn through normal means.

At the end of Margaret's Social Link, the protagonist receives the ability to create Isis of the Empress Arcana. Margaret also rewards the protagonist with a kiss.

Persona 3 Portable

Margaret makes a special appearance in Persona 3 Portable as an optional boss. The player can encounter her in the Abyss of Time. As in Persona 4, and unlike the battle with Elizabeth, the player can use a full party of four characters when challenging her.

Persona 4 Arena

In Persona 4 Arena, Margaret summons Yu to the Velvet Room on multiple occasions during his story mode and helps guide him along the proper path.
