series. It was released on May 23, 1997 in Japan. It is also the first game set in the Salburg universe, and was followed by Elie no Atelier
and Lilie no Atelier
. The Atelier series and its central concept of alchemy would be carried on into several spin-off franchises including the Atelier Iris and Mana-Khemia series.
The game focuses on Marie
, a scatter-brained alchemy student who has the distinction of possessing the worst GPA in the history of her academy.
Marie also appears in Cross Edge
, a crossover RPG developed by Compile Heart
that features characters from several RPG franchises.
