He is the face of marvel comics. People identify Spiderman with marvel, like people who identify Batman or Superman with DC....probly moreso with Batman. You get the point.

If you haven't noticed, Spider Man is the most recognized and popular Marvel Superhero in the world. That's why he is on the cover.
