Why did you put Soul Calibur into a series, but not so the same for any of the others?

I don't like a lot of fighters, but the Mortal Kombat reboot is amazing (from the demo) and that maybe will be my favorite.

The lack of Darkstalkers and Rival Schools makes me sad.

Noticeable lack of some games here.  Plus I don't quite get why some games were grouped in as a 'series' and others were more listed out, but, whatevs.  I voted Shaq Fu since, why not.

Fighting game fans aren't voting on this thing apparently. I'm not seeing any votes for Guilty Gear series, Street Fighter 3, Street fighter Alpha 3, MvC2, or Capcom Vs. SNK 2. Personally my favorite right now is SSF4, but that may change when Mortal Kombat hits shelves.

SFIV is what got me really into fighting games, and it definately deserves it's cred even though it obviously has issues. I would have to say though, that the game that I enjoy playing most would be Super Smash Bros., but many people don't call that a fighting game. I still like it, because you can keep a more casual attitude and it's easier not to get salty while in SF and MvC and other "hardcore" fighting games, one dropped input is enough to raise the rage level to maximum.  
 
I'm just gonna vote SSFIV and be done with it. I could argue with myself for hours about this. It's most likely the "wrong" opinion to have, because I know the hard love some people feel for SF2 and 3, but for me, it's SF4.

Poll is very, very difficult to answer. I went with SSFIV, not necessarily because I do feel it's the best, but it's the game that I am most able to comment on because I've sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours in to playing and learning about that game. 
 
Third Strike needs some love though, fo serious :(

Posting a "Best Fighting Game" thread in the MvC3 forum seems like a conflict of interests.

tekken 3 and tag tournament are classics. they're probably much more nub friendly than your street fighters or whatever but i love 'em regardless.

Street Fighter II Championship Edition.

The current results are incredibly saddening for a multitude of reasons.

• No votes for CvS2
• GG has same amount of votes as BB
• SSF4 is current leader
• Shaq Fu does not deserve a single vote. Seriously, its not funny.

Third strike for me, I just love the way it feels.

SSF4 anything else is just wrong. sorely tempted to say 2 as it's what i grew up on but nope! gotta have those ultras.

Either Alpha 3, 3rd Strike or SSF4.

I think this probably would have been better off if you said best fighting series: Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Kinf of fighters, etc. I mean you could technically list every year of king of fighters or I could also say my favorite one is the one year you left out. 

The Tekken fighting games is the only fighting game series to where I attempted to get good at, and actually did. <3

I prefer simulation fighting games such as Fight Night and EA's MMA over arcade fighters like these. Out of the above probably UMK3 because it brings back fond memories.

I'll say Tekken 3 because Tekken is my favourite series.

I was the ONE person that voted for CvS2?  There's no sad enough emoticon for how I feel about this.

Soul Caliber 2 or Tekken 5 would probably be my choice. I chose Tekken 3 due to limiting options.

Yo... Super Street Fighter 4 is really good.

The amount of people who think Street Fighter is better than Guilty Gear saddens me.  Not saying they're wrong, just saying that I disagree with them and it makes me sad for the future of the style of fighting games I enjoy.

I cant take this poll serious of PRIMAL RAGE ISNT ON THE LIST FOR ALL TIME BEST FIGHTING GAME.

No Virtua Fighter is a glaring omission. That said, Third Strike all the way.
