I'm personally hoping Sheva and some generic Monster Hunter/Lost Planet characters don't get put in there.

I want everyone. Why would you care if they are there? The more the merrier. If you don't like them, just don't play as them. As long as they don't put in a generic character instead of a more well known one.

I'd just rather not see an overabundance of Street Fighter characters.

i'd be okay with pretty much any new character as long as they're not shitty clones that make up about one-third of the MvC2 roster.

Psylocke. I've always hated that character primarily due to how worthless she is in the grand scheme of things, yet she remains a fan favorite for the T&A. She began as a British woman (Captain Britain, even) and then inexplicably, Marvel decided to turn her into a Japanese ninja. Every time they kill her off she comes back Marvel makes a big deal about it, gives her a new host of powers, never does anything with her and then kill her off again.
 
She's pretty much everything I hated about Marvel in the 90s wrapped up in a single character. That is the end of my nerd rage rant :)

The second wolverine (or any other character being put in twice). Past that, the more characters the better.

Don't want to see Chris Redfield because... he doesn't fit in..  unless it's mutated and infected Chris Redfield with special powers.

Chris Redfield's special will be a boulder falling from the top of the screen and him punching it.

No more characters from the RE universe, we already got Chris, leave Ken out, no Seth, less Street Fighter. I don't want Frank West but he's probably in, and he could potentially be interesting so I don't mind.

The new game represents a real opportunity to get some new characters, that over the last 10 years have become important for both Capcom and Marvel.  In the case of Marvel, there represents a wealth of older characters that just couldn't fit in MvC2.  It's unlikely that MvC3 is going to be able to deliver over 40 Characters, as such, I don't want valuable slots to be wasted on:

This is not to say that the characters listed here are bad, or useless.  I love many of these characters, but I feel that each of these characters can be replaced in favor of an equivalent character from their respective universe in order to create some diversity.  Replacing 2/3rds of the roster will help the developers create a fresh experience and allow them to lift a "little" of the heavy burden of having the game be compared to MvC2.  If most of the same characters return, a lot of people are going to be disappointed that their favorite character just doesn't "play" as well as they used to.  Keep the faces of the franchise, mix up the rest.
