Wolverine and spiderman, without them is it even a marvel vs capcom game?
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Sep 19, 2017
The seventh installment of the long-running Marvel vs. Capcom series bring a cinematic twist to the formula (where a merger of two robotic super-villains and some of the Infinity Stones causes Marvel and Capcom universes to converge into one).
What Characters are you excited about seeing.
@oursin_360: You might get Spider-Man since he was in Captain America: Civil War and has a movie coming out from Marvel next summer.
I know "well it's not a Capcom character, but Capcom DID make and/or publish a game with that license" isn't enough to justify a character's inclusion, but......
Maaaaan, that would be such a good game!
Give me Slapstick and Annex from Marvel. Yes, damn it, I know I'm the only person in the universe who knows who they are, but Annex was a way more interesting Iron Man than Iron Man and Slapstick is genius. Genius!
And Cracker Jack from Capcom. Yes, I know, licensing. Fuck it. Make it happen.
From Marvel I would be excited to get:
- Winter Solider, could use guns as specials and also his BIONIC AAARRRM
- Daredevil, pretty likely as he is the biggest netflix character and can design around his batons/grappling hook
- Magik, sounds like they will include some X-Men and I think she could work really well as she has variety in her skill set of using magic, summoning limbo demons, and using the giant soul sword, maybe even have her level 3 be her calling in the other New Mutants
From Capcom I would like to see:
- Rashid, his move set would translate really easily into Marvel and he one of the few new characters from Capcom
- Necalli, my main in SFV and I also think his moves could work well in Marvel (think stomps as launchers, seismos as OTGs) and is also new to Capcom
- New Dante, YES I SAID IT, I think he would work incredibly well in Marvel with the whole grappling hook style of Rebellion in DmC, also you know you want Old Dante to be able to fight New Dante
- Leon, Switch him out for Chris and change up his move set a bit
Moon Knight
Seeing as Moon Knight is my 2nd favorite comic book character, this is really my only suggestion. I'm sure it will be MCU focused and I wouldn't even be surprised if you saw the Defenders in it as well. Losing the X-Men/FF isn't that big of a deal seeing as you can easily replace x for y and get a relatively same play style for most of those characters anyways
If it really is no X-Men then hopefully Inhumans are there (I'd like to play as Black Bolt) and the Netflix heroes - I liked being Iron Fist, Luke, and DD in the Marvel Alliance games. Jessica Jones maybe doesn't fit, but those 3 and Punisher do.
My thoughts are based around the idea of the game being 2v2
Capcom
- X & Zero
- Ryu & Ken / Chun-Li / Akuma / Sagat
- Dante & Vergil (+ DmC Dante & Vergil as alternate costumes)
- Samanosuke & Jacques Blanc
Marvel
- Cap & Winter Soldier
- Deadpool & Cable / Wolverine / Spider-Man
- Thor & Loki
- FemThor & Odinson
- Groot & Rocket
- Corvus Glaive & Proxima Midnight
- Hulk & She-Hulk
- Iron Man & Doctor Strange
I desperately want to see the Nextwave versions of Aaron Stack and Elsa Bloodstone in a game. Aaron could make for an interesting character to play. He's full of very useful devices.
@bartok: whats the deal with losing the xmen? Hasn't fox owned the movie rights for almost 20 years now? Why is it becoming such an issue now?
@oursin_360: It's a lot of people seeing news that MvCI will "draw heavily from the Marvel Cinematic Universe" and interpreting that as "this game will only feature MCU characters."
I think it'll probably be the case that Infinite will have way fewer X-Men than Marvel 3 did (and probably no new ones), but I think it's crazy to immediately assume that super-iconic mainstays like Magneto and Wolverine will be gone.
@bartok: But Disney still owns those characters? I thought Fox just has the movie rights until whatever contract they signed with pre-disney marvel expires? Are you saying the movie deal includes any video games as well?
On the Capcom side: KILLER 7. He switches through all the personalities as you pull off a long juggle combo.
On the Marvel side: SCROOGE MCDUCK. He counts as Marvel now, right? Bopping motherfuckers left and right, bouncing on his pogo cane!
