Today - my fourth ME3 session, I thought I'd get a little MP in before playing more SP. Turned out to be a mistake, since it's now 8 hours later and I did do nothing but MP. ME3's MP is excellent.

I was very lucky and got the Drell Adept out of my starter box. Most fun gameplay I had in Mass Effect to date. Since I played very few renowned coop games, it's been the best coop experience I had thus far. Pull-'n-Reave detonation combo is kickass. Just me, my Carnifex and Biotics out the wazoo. And if something big comes my way, 2x Clustergrenade and the threat's history. 40% damage reduction. DoT. AoE. Massive grenade damage. And a handcannon packing the punch of a sniper rifle. Pretty much never in cover. Just charge in with Reave to buff up. Pop heads. Then Pull and Detonate with Reave. Sooo good. Godlike powerful.

Made the mistake to 'Promote' my lvl 20 Drell Adept 'Exar'. I expected to squad up with that dude. Have him show up on the Normandy. Nuhuh. Just +'something' for the N7 squad in Galactic Whatever - and I'm already at 100% from MP. Don't quite get that. Must be something like 'Prestige' for CoD, just more pointless. Should have kept him and gone for Silver and Gold difficulty. Oh well - I might get around to that. Got the Quarian Infiltrator and Turian Soldier and all the humans. I tried out the Quarian Infiltrator and the Female Human Sentinel. Both kinda lame in comparison to the Drell Adept.

Really looking forward to unlocking the Krogan Vanguard. That's gonna be badass.

Asari Vanguard is the best. Charge and Stasis is just too overpowered. Lift Grenade is pretty good too.

I've not unlocked many, so what I'm sticking to at the moment is the Human Engineer. Overload, Incinerate, and the Combat Drone just work so well in a jack of all trades manner. Normal and Armoured enemies get incinerated, Shielded opponents get Overloaded and then incinerated, and the Combat Drone is great for spinning Guardians around so you can shoot them when you're up against Cerberus, or for distracting bigger enemies like Ravagers or Geth Primes whilst you fire on them. Decent Health and Shields, and with upgraded Fitness I can carry a Vindicator AR and still have a 186% Recharge rate for my powers - so I can dish out good weapon damage and pretty much toss out an ability every 2 seconds.

In the demo I did a similar thing for the Turian Sentinel, with Warp and Overload. Looking forward to unlocking him!

    Krogan Berserker. Sentinel.
    60% dmg reduction.
One hit kills in melee to even shielded enemies. Even on silver.
And because you don't care about ability cooldowns at all, you can sport the best heaviest weapons. I run around with a Mattock and a Claymore for the lulz.

Quarian Infiltrator all the way. Hide cloaked in a corner and snipe like crazy, half the time the enemies never find me. Plus the Sabotage ability is murder against the Geth, I can take control of any unit on the battlefield, it's a real game changer.

I pretty much took almost every class to 20 now.

For pure dmg spam and best overall support is Asari Adept, warp+throw with lowered cooldowns can be used to spam biotic combinations at an insane rate, this is the fastest way to take down all the elite enemies like Banshees, Brutes, Primes, etc ... from a distance. Combine with the Bubble stasis and you have the best crowd controll. The only huge downside is the extreme fragility of the class. A true glass cannon. But the ranged power you wield is tremendous and unparallel.

Vanguard is fun to fool around on bronze, but unfortunately there are mechanical problems with the MP that sometimes make you not able to charge even when off cooldown, making you die, since you're still fragile. Reliance on cooldown means light weapons only. It's also too risky charging elite enemies. Its a fun class nonetheless and can outscore others easily in good hands. But not a fan personally. Nonetheless it would be amiss not to mention as the most newbie friendly class that can do great.

Krogan Berzerker Sentinel, my favourite class, you have the most damage protection then anyone (60-70% reduction when raging), more shields, more health, you are basically a walking tank. Like I mentioned before while you are raging (mele 2 enemies) you can one shot any enemy in melee even shielded ones, bar elites and do tremendous damage to those. This outputs the most damage of any class on silver. (on gold asari adept might overtake him due to biotic explosions scaling with difficulty) You can sport the best heaviest weapons too, not giving a damn for cooldowns. With a Claymore nothing takes down elites faster then you. Not only are you a tank, you are also the cannon without the glass part. The reason to take Krogan Adept over Soldier is that the shield ability gives extra melee damage.

Quarian Infiltrator is the bees knees against geth and a very capable class to play with sticky grenades, cloak, sabotage. If it was not for some issues this would be an almost OP class. Issues: cloak frequently does not work and enemies will continue to see you, this is especially true if the rest of your team is down cloak is basically useless. I sometimes get into games with lag, making sniping almost impossible, due to shitty ME netcode. When pressed into a corner (like wave 11) the supreme power of this class is instantly degraded. This is also the easiest class to use 4 of on gold to farm credits against geth enemies (not personally tested unlike the rest of this post).

Quarian Engineer, great support for your team, you can lay down the turret and spam Cryoblast and Incenerate between shots in alteration, this is a great way of debuffing the enemy, and resulting tech explosions spread to others. Highly recomend using cryo rounds however on silver and above to help set up and off tech explosions. It a very good debuff class, making it much easier for the rest of your team to take down tough enemies or manage groups, you can literaly make elites go down twice as fast. Great against all enemy types, well rounded class choice overall. And no real big drawback, which is why it's in this list.

Asari Adept - Stasis Bubble is great crowd control and Warp+Throw is great for the tougher armored enemies.

Human Vanguard - Charge>Nova>Roll Cancel>repeat = Mostly invincible crowd stomping monster as long as charge doesn't bug out and refuse to activate.

Cloak is useless when team members are down? I haven't had this experience at all, I've run right around hordes of enemies and revived teammates without the enemies even turning their heads. Of course, they know you're there if you touch them, which is tricky if they're in a narrow corridor, but there are usually alternate routes to take. As for wave 11, my strategy is to find a good spot far away from the extraction point but with a good line of sight on it from which I can snipe. Then I just cloak and make a break for it with about ten seconds left. It's not like hacking where you have to fill a meter, you really only have to be in that circle at the last moment.

Have this happen almost all the time sadly.
If the rest of the deam is down, no matter if i have cloak on or not enemies will still continue to encroach on you and shoot you. I've been taken countless times while cloaked :(
Touching or not isn't an issue, i get killed from across the map by a rocket or a Prime shooting.

Either Turian Classes and Drell Adept. Turian Sentinel is the BEST Class, Overload and Warp allowed them to destroy any defense.

Finally got the Krogan Soldier. I really like that class. Still growing into it, though, and I haven't been able to unlock weapons I feel comfortable using with the class. I think I've got ol' Urdnot Wrender using a Revenant and a Mantis. The Rage power is neat as hell.

Pretty much unlocked every combination except for Krogan Soldier now (may be one other... Turian Sentinel, maybe?), but tend to lean towards Vanguard for Bronze games and Adept for Silver games. I think I'll try some other classes soon.

Generally, I lean towards Asari for both Vanguard and Adept - the Asari dodge is AWESOME and SUPER FAST, and having access to Stasis is really good. However, I often swap over to Drell as they move a bit faster (except for when dodging). Best thing about Pistol-adept is being able to pretty much deal with any situation - I'm no stranger to taking out Banshees and most of waves on my own... though it's rather nerve-wracking to try it :)

Trying to avoid Humans, as the roll-dodge is terrible.

Playing Vanguard and Adept, I'm rather focused on Pistols, Shotguns and SMGs - and I have a fully leveled Predator, so that tneds to be my goto for Adept. For Vanguard, I swap between several - Claymore, ... but I tend to go Disciple when I mean business. (not a high-performing shotgun, but it is light).

Think I'll give Krogan Sentinel a whirl tonight. Or Turian-something. Or Salarian Engineer - their Sniper-rifle synergy seems really good - and I've got that Javelin I that I want to try in MP...

I've been rocking an Asari Vanguard from my starter pack. Rather than spamming charge/nova/die like all the flowchart Vanguards out there, I've been playing her as a sort of support tank.

I only buy Specter packs and the first one I opened netted me the pistol that fires the delayed explosives. I get up close, slow the enemy down with Stasis Field and do lots of splash damage to everyone with my pistol, then try to draw fire while healing myself by using charge to regenerate my shields.

It's been so much fun, I just hope I get some more awesome guns soon before I get fed up. I'm wondering if it would be smarter to buy some of the 20k packs for the time being rather than saving up 60k every time since I'm already level 19 and have only bought 3 packs.

Been messing around as a human male Infiltrator that has the first four skills maxed out. He can bring a lot of punch to the table with sticky grenades that eat armor up, cryo blasts that keeps targets down for a long while, and tactical cloak/alliance training traits that can put an Atlas down with 3 shots (using M-98 Widow). His Fitness trait is empty though and he can't take a shot from a phantom at all. "Always keep moving, always keep hurting." basically sums the character up.

I cannot overstate how immensely awesome the Salarian Engineer is. Decoy is an absolute matchwinner for higher difficulty settings. For hacking jobs especially. Decoy can hold the aggro of EVERYTHING. And the cooldown is up way before it's getting killed (specced mine for survivability). Energy Drain and Incinerate go together perfectly. An absolute blast.

I'm amazed at how many classes I really like. Thus far only the human female sentinel didn't click with me. Everything else was killer. Hell - being a Krogan in MP is really like BEING A KROGAN. Too flippin' awesome.

Human female vanguard is what I have been sticking with. The charge+nova combo is super fun, you just have to be careful with how you use it. I just wish I had pull instead of shockwave (I still haven't gotten used to using that effectively) but that would make her way too overpowered I think. I want to unlock the Asari Vanguard but I still haven't been lucky enough to get that in the packs. I also swapped out the shotgun (since I still haven't unlocked a good one) for the M-37 Falcon which is the assault rifles that's actually a grenade launcher. That with a pistol seems to be working pretty good at the moment, though I would kill someone for the Disciple shotgun.

Waiting to unlock Asari Adept and Drell Vanguard. Those two will definitely be my favourite.

    How do I know this?

    1. using pull to manage groups then charge to tear shit up before finally finishing the floater

    2. biotic explosions

I'm picking the final skill tree upgrade in singularity, but I can't tell if the detonate power only counts when the singularity dies out normally, or if it still does that much extra damage when the singularity is ended by a Biotic explosion.  Anyone happen to know?

I'm playing a maxed out soldier right now. It's great because you don't need to worry about powers recharging. So you can rock super heavy weapons and keep the damage going. So I've got the Mantis with a bonus to damage, and the Carnifex II which is an instant kill to the head(Perfect for accurately clearing out rooms and spawn points). So while everyone is running around, I'm sniping them with one of two weapons, and keeping them back with grenades. It's pretty good.

Until I get my Asari Adept anyway. Used her in the demo, had soooo much fun. But after buying three consecutive specter packs and not getting anything worthwhile... I don't know anymore.

Stuck with Human Engineer so far (level 18). I have unlocked Asari Adept, so that will be my next character.

I'm finding multiplayer extremely fun, I'm splitting my play time about 50/50 single/multiplayer. Don't understand why some people dismiss it so easily.

Downside of this weekend's Operation: Goliath is that I've now pretty much mastered Reaper enemies, playing an Asari Adept. Spent most of my time on Gold lately... Biotic Explosions absolutely murders Banshees, Ravagers and Brutes. The downside being that since my survivability is like a piece of wet tissue paper, I tend to have big problems when I'm not supported by my teammates (taking out the smaller enemies, usually).

Also, Geth and Cerberus are still a problem - and I've found that the Asari Adept isn't quite as much of a damage demon against those. Phantoms have a tendency to dodge biotic abilities (not a problem normally, but when you have 4 Phantoms closing in on your position...), turrets are frustrating and Geth have a tendency to spam rockets and get very close to you with shields up - which makes life very difficult for an adept. I'll probably focus a bit more on Cerberus and Geth games in the coming days to get a better feel for them.

I saw a loading screen mention "breaking" a Phantom's sword (as a way of disabling the instant-kill melee attack). Anyone know anything about that?

Also experimented a bit with the Salarian Engineer (Decoy is pretty good!), Turian Sentinel (uhhh... no dodge is going to be a problem), and I'll probably give Salarian Infiltrator a try soon. I feel like I'm fairly "done" playing Vanguard, but I've seen people mentioning that they are pretty much indestructible with the right build. Which I guess I'll have to check out!

Though... I'm feeling that I'm starting to wear out on the whole thing.

After having Promoted all the classes once I can say without a doubt Turian Sentinal is my favorite and Asari Vanguard is the worst.

Odd. Asari Vanguard is killer in my book. Biotic Charge and Stasis? Two of the most powerful active abilities in the game? What's bad about that? I find Sentinels in general to be underwhelming. Tech Armor is such a boring skill. I guess tastes differ, but I'd really like to know what you find weak about the Asari Vanguard.

Krogan Sentinel and spec him purely for melee. It's fantastic.

I don't have all the classes unlocked (I have like half and that is fucked cause I've been playing for more then 50 hours) but I really like the Human Engineer because it has the ability to deal with every situation in my opinion: Overload for shields, incinerate for armour and whateves else, and I bring the Mattock with me which is a beastly weapon.

I also liked the Drell Adept and that was my first class I played. It was definitely a beast but couldn't really deal with shields (at least this is me assuming Pull --> Reave doesn't cause a Biotic Explosion. If it does, then, yeah, that dude is beast). I'm hoping the Asari Adept will do a little better. Warp --> Throw is not as satisfying as Pull --> Reave but it causes a biotic explosion on shields and armoured dudes and she has Stasis which is great for things like Phantoms.

Least favourite class so far has been Soldier and Infiltrator. Soldier is boring but with the Infiltrator I get super mad when I miss a shot cause I have to wait so long to reload, and using the Mantis (lvl 4-ish, probs) on Silver a headshot from cloak does not kill a Marauder with shields with one shot. It's a bummer I don't like the Infiltrator cause it is the only class I would play a Quarian as and I really like Quarians...

I'm also waiting for the Asari Vanguard before I try one out (cause I hate the way Humans look as Vanguards and Soldiers) but after that I'll have given them all a chance.

Also, I find it hard to understand the point of a Human Sentinel. I've gotten one to level 17 now and I don't get it. Drell Adept gets higher damage resistance with Reave, making Tech Armour not all the hot to me. That leaves the possibility of Warp --> Throw but other classes seem to do better things with what the Sentinel has to offer. That is the Human one anyway, don't have the others unlocked but obviously Krogan melee is ridiculous.

I was lucky enough to score a widow-98 so the quarian infiltrator has been quite fun. Just cloak and snipe. The cooldown on sabotage is pretty bad for me and I never use sticky grenades. I have a pistol with a scope as a sidearm which is a great compliment to deal with the slow Sniper Rifle reload and lack of ammo. I also leveled up the salarian engineer. Putting no points into decoy. Just spam incinerate, energy drain as needed. Also screw soldiers. Any class with a couple of good powers is fun, but I really want to get my space magic on soon.

Asari in general are very weak, much like Drell, I can take one or two hits before my barriers drop and I'm looking for cover or waiting for charge to cooldown. Even with a 200% cooldown bonus, biotic charge never comes back fast enough and without Nova or Singularity Asari Vanguards lack any real crowd control, Which is what Biotics are really for.

And yes Tech Armor is a boring skill, which is why I don't use it, but Turian's have both Warp and Overload, which means they can single-handedly take down any and all protection. If you spec a Turian Sentinel correctly, you can provide both crowd control, with Chain Overload, and Deal massive damage to a single target with Heavy Warp. Turian's can also passively reduce the weight of Assault Rifle meaning they can also provide decent cover fire, which many power focused classes can't do without a huge cooldown penalty.

went ahead and played some more MP this week after resetting all my classes back to lvl 1

yep Krogan Berserker is still the most OP shit ever
i feel invulnurable compared to everyone else on the team with both shields and health over a 1000 and 60% dmg reduction
the melee dmg is ridiculous, not even asari adepts put out as much
the fact that i can charge one of those reaper armored assholes that wipe out entire teams from range with their pew pew and kill it in a few seconds solo still seems insane
the light melee is an aoe, it's fun to get melee multikills, headbutting 3 dudes into red explosions is ... magical?
meleeing brutes/banshees/primes/atlases to death is likewise hilarious

other classes just feel boring and underpowered in comparison
don't feel like there is a point to me playing them anymore when there is a clear superior alternative

I have played a little with female soldier. That was kind of boring so I went with Quarian infiltrator all the way. It's been really fun so far and god knows my ME3 sessions doesn't need another bum rushing krogan or weak soldier. Cloaking is also very useful when I need to slip pass the enemy to revive a squad mate, just roll into cover directly afterwards and you're fine.

But I guess I want to switch it up a bit. Maybe I'll level my Drell adept then.

Asari adept by far. Since the explosion bonus on the throw and warp stack, even in gold brutes only take like 2 warp throw combos. With only a pistol and hella regen that only takes a few seconds total.

Played some Turian Soldier today. Don't quite get it. Turians get a lot of shields and a decent HP pool, but are outdone by Krogans in both survivability and melee damage. Turians can't dodge either, just like Krogans, only it feels totally off. They aren't fat lumps of muscle like the Krogans. Concussive Shot and Proximity Mine are so... 'meh', and are lacking in punch and utility.

Turian Soldier seems to be all about Marksman - which increases rate of fire and accuracy. Only Assault Rifles and SMGs do increase in performance noticeably by the Marksman buff. Since heavy hitting pistols and some shotguns and sniper rifles outperform assault rifles with ease, I find the Turian Soldier extremely underwhelming as a result. So much so I decided at lvl 15 I'll do the rest of my current soldier class playthrough to lvl 20 with a Krogan instead.

I unlocked the Revenant assault rifle just before ending my latest session, which might actually perform above average with Markman. My regular Assault Rifle, the Vindicator, gets a good buff-up with marksman, but overall still is worlds behind the performance of the likes of the Carnifex and Geth Plasma Shotgun. Then again, I'm no sucker for overpowered efficiency. I love the style and skill-demanding Drell and Asari class make-ups. The Turian soldier though is just plain boring to play. Blech.
