I've looked through the forum for ME3 and it's completely dominated by countless threads discussing the ending. Yes the ending is unfulfilling. But I think people have to think about what happened preceding the ending. This is a great game full of truly memorable moments.

Please just look past the ending and think about something that made you excited, sad, or satisfied that happened before the end.

I really loved Mordin's death. It was really moving as he sacrificed himself to save a species that his people have punished for centuries. Plus he started singing... almost made me cry.

Everything leading up to you being beamed into the Citadel.

The little fight with the reporter.

Tali and Garrus. That was the most surprising and the best part of the game. Also, Emergency Induction Port.

I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is my favourite spot on the Citadel! James and Cortez arguing between which is better, the Mako v The Hammerhead, was great too. Oh, and Kaiden telling my lady shep how people actually find him kind of annoying -- ''no, really!''

Basically a lot of the more self-aware dialogue pertaining to all of the criticisms and discussions brought up by the fans. Great bundle of fan-service across the game. Charging The Citadel near the end was also fantastic, as was learning about the Geth rebellion in VR as well.

Ohhh, and both Mordin and Thane's death were really impactful and well executed imo. Mordin's in particular made me choke up a bit. In fact, everything to do with Mordin in this game was grand... all the more sad that there was no way he couldn't join my squad again.

But seriously. If they had an option where I could punch Jessica Chobot in the face then that would be it.

The amount of great moments in this game is sooooo small compared to 2.

Modin's death was really moving. I also got chills when Grunt insisted on holding the reaper/rachni forces back in the caves. That last push to the beam was spectacular, and of course everything concerning Tali was my favorite.

Curing the genophage. The unification of the korgan is something to behold.

No that's too kind, you are favourite moment in ME3.

Every moment with Garrus was awesome. I think my favourite bit of "self aware" dialog was near the begining when you/someone made a joke about Garrus doing calibrations.
 
The missions leading up to and on Tuchanka were fantastic. A party of Wrex, Mordin, Eve and my squad was just great. Mordins death was really well done as well.
 
Thanes death was also pretty darn sad but at least he went out in style. Pretty much meeting everyone in your ME2 squad ended in some great stuff.

I actually really liked the quiet moments with Liara. She was my romance option throughout the trilogy (I didn't cheat on her in 2!) and I felt like those moments were really moving, like the scene with the time capsule she made.

I... 'accidentally' cheated on Liara in my main playthrough... I figured that Samantha Traynor was to be another cheap fling like Kelly Chambers and wouldn't actually count as a love-interest, only then to find Liara lashing at me because she ''knows about me and Samantha''... and from then on Samantha apparently became my love-interest. I wasn't able to mend things with Liara =( Oh well, suppose it's my own fault for being such a whore.

Some of the passing NPC dialogue was pretty intriguing. The Asari Commando's story of Joker's sister really hit me once i put everything together, rare for simple ambient dialogue.

Tali's suicide was really heart-wrenching. Once that happened, I just skipped through the rest of that cutscene and quickly loaded a save from an hour ago to avoid the suicide. No game has evoked such an emotion before. It's great.

@cheesedohnutsalad: I had a similar feeling when a bunch of NPCs were talking about how Cerberus murdered my Kelly Chambers. Nobody kills my Kelly!

The Normandy in general as well, like how the crew chat on the intercom and actually move about and have conversations with each other. It made it feel like these people I'm with were an actual team and some of them friends after knowing each other for so long. I was furious, I punched the one general in the gut and told him to GTFO and the other to stop talking before I threw her out of the airlock too.
Didn't conclude the Quarian bit yet but if I have any say in it I will let the Geth wipe them the fuck out, I am done with those racist motherfuckers.
 
So yeah, I was totally in it.
 
Although I must say, Thane's death...the prayer said...which turned out to be for Shepard.
Shivers just thinking about it, I loved it.

I done the same thing. This was even during my original primarily-Paragon playthrough as well, but after that bollocks, fuck you Simon Templeman! It's nigh impossible to resist the chance punching Space Loghain anyway ;P

I really enjoyed a lot of the Geth stuff. I really liked the mission where you bust into the Geth base and fought a Reaper on foot.

Anything with Garrus to be honest. Mordin and Thane's death didn't really affect me as they should have. I think it's because they didn't really stick around me as they should have. Essentially they had a few lines to say and then *BAM*. This is the best we could do to write you out of the story! :D

Not that many good moments in this compared to ME2 but there's some good banter with the crew throughout. I liked James Vega more then I thought I would too. A little cliched but likeable. Also, the fact that the sex scenes with Garrus/Tali are shorter in comparison to the humans/Liara. I'm partially curious as to what a naked alien looks like but on the other hand I'm glad they didn't show it. Could be worse. Could be Dragon Age sex scenes.

Do you mean because Miranda's dead? No, she still gets drunk (which frankly seems more fitting)... though I can't believe they still had her getting drunk even if she was alive >_> But then I put a little thought into it and it's not so surprising. I need to start getting used to the fact that 9/10 of your choices mean nothing in these games.

For me it was all of Tuchanka, and me and Tali flirting in front of Garrus.

Thane's death, really, really hit me. Between him and Mordin I was a mess, I got so attached to both especially Thane. I knew I loved the character, but I didn't think it'd be haunting me still 30 hours later when I knew he was going to die anytime.  
 
Everything with Tuchanka was amazing, I was so ready to knock some heads between the turians, salarians, and asari. I told them the first chance I had about the sabotage effort, because even if my Shepard was worried about starting a war she also thought they needed to know. And the walk through the ruins, I just kept flashing back to fighting the thresher maw with Grunt and be terrified/psyched for the possibility of fighting Kalros. I was happy I didn't in the end as it would be insane, but the thresher maw fight was amazing in 2 and so awe inspiring so making me think of it was great. 
 
Also as always love the random conversations you overhear. The one at the start with the PTSD asari, and the doctor talking to the woman over the radio at the end haunting me the most. And I really need to make a save of just before James and Garrus pissing contest, one of the funniest moments of the game.

She gets drunk even if Miranda lives. In fact, oddly enough she speaks as if Miranda were dead, even though she was alive.

That was one of the really great character moments in the game, it really highlights everything the series was about.

Tali being drunk, Mordin's death and walking in on Tali and Garrus at the end were really amazing moments too, that wouldn't have worked at all without the emotional investment. I loved a lot of the ambient conversations you could randomly hear while walking around. It really drove home the fact the galaxy was in complete disarray because of the war, I particularly liked the human trying to arrange transport home for her daughter, but having no where to send her, after her family disowned her for marrying an asari.

Basically, everything that wasn't in the final 10 minutes was amazing.

Palaven's moon mission was amazing just because the backround visuals really made me feel like SHIT WAS GOING DOWN.

Uniting the Geth and Quarians was great because that part of the universe/plot is definately my favourite.

I romanced Liara in 1, cheated on her in 2 with Tali and got back together in Shadow Broker and 3. But when I walked in on Garrus and Tali getting it on near the end, I felt super jealous. That's the first time a game has made me feel that way so that moment sticks out.

So far I've loved the writing on the bit of you & Garrus taking a break on the citadel. Definitely not a favorite moment have been the 2 (not finished btw) fights involving the reaper ships on the home planets of Wrex & Tali. Really enjoy the ME universe on how it handles many thing but the boss fights are just poorly designed with more frustration than fun.

Thane's death.

Initially you think he's going to die from his stab wound. No, he dies from Drell cancer basically. That last effort sped up the process. Lying there in the hospital bed with his son and his friend by his side, praying at first then being unable to finish so you and his son finish it for him. After he dies his son reveals that the final prayer he did was for you. Great moment but nothing tops...

Tali's death. I didn't blame myself but fuck that was heart wrenching.

Thane´s death and the moment before you make the final push and get to talk to everyone one last time. "Meet me at the bar...". Garrus is so awesome.

Mordin was pretty great, especially his death scene. Grunt fighting hordes of Rachni was pretty cool too, and his death fake-out and return was appropriately satisfying.

Other parts I really liked:

• EDI and Joker asking for relationship advice.
• Garrus. Just Garrus.
• Drunk Tali after Sanctuary.
• Tali and Garrus getting together before hitting Earth. Made me really regret accidentally carrying over a save with Liara as a LI.
• Killing Kai Leng.
• Any scene with Thane
• Wrex.
• Any time I biotically exploded something.
• Reaper VS Thresher Maw
• Any time Vega talked to another crew member.
• The mission in which you go into the Geth conscious. The gameplay wasn't that great, but some really interesting story stuff.

Protip: If you tell Kelly she should change her identity, she won't be killed and you continue the romance plot with her.

Weirdly enough I kinda enjoyed playing through that (the story reveal was the true pay off though of course). It felt oddly satisfying evaporating all of the Reaper virus strands. Legion constantly reminding me over and over to ''aim for the vulnerable spot so it'll take longer to regenerate'' I could of gone without, though.

All of this plus everyone except EDI's final dialogue when your in London. Shepard and Garrus talking about the big space bar in heaven was really touching.
