@disconjazz: I'm pretty sure Vinny has talked repeatedly about his appreciation for the Citadel DLC, so I assume at the very least they will be playing through that.

Is Mass Alex 3 definitely happening at some point? I hope they’re not putting it off because of the Tali thing. The downloadable save editor makes changing that really easy.

Yes, they still just haven't decided on the date, I'd guess. That Tali thing would be a pretty silly reason to just drop the series completely.

With Alex playing through Def Jam right now, I imagine that gets finished first, then maybe the beginning of March for ME3? Like before, we can only wait and see.

The GB instagram account has a video up. Vinny and Alex are setting up to record Mass Alex again. They also revealed that they went back and made it so Tali lived. Alex justified it with saying that the game didn't do a good job of explaining what the decision was, and he would have chosen otherwise had he known.

Well, that's a good decision, then. The companions are pretty much the *only* reason to play through ME3. Everything else is a completely half-baked mess that is at least one or two steps back from the best parts of the series.

Also curious about what version they're playing. Obviously, the Extended Cut + DLC is the bestleast worst experience, but I would really be interested to see Alex's reaction to the base game's handling of Casper the Magic Space Ghost at the end.

Yeah, I could've gone for "sticking with your choices" playthrough but I'm also just as fine with this too, because what makes Alex happy makes me happy!

I'm fine with them putting Tali back in, because Tali is awesome and a significant part of the third game. Pawning it off like it was bad design that killed her in the first place is pretty weak, though. The correct choices are fairly easy if you take the time/have the time to think them through.

@redwing42: No, I see what they mean. The choice in question asks you to choose a party member with “experience”. Samara is a reasonable choice, being by far the oldest party member. They should have been clearer that they meant “leadership experience”, which Samara, as a solo operative, isn’t really suited for.

From what I'm understanding, when Alex gets back from None Above All stuff in Orlando next week, it's open season for Mass Alex recording. So we could have Mass Alex 3 episode 1 as early as March 10th if they record it next week.

Yes. Especially if he doesn't switch back for 3. Vanguard is hands down the most fun class in that entire game.

It’s been a minute since I watched Mass Alex 2. Did they tackle the Arrival DLC? I thought I remembered them doing it but also heard that maybe they hadn’t yet.

Also, I can’t wait for Alex to play through the Citadel DLC. Fanservice in the absolute best way.

Tali is the best. I used to work with the voice actress's wife and she got me autographed Tali and Liara prints, personalized to me . Being "the nice IT guy" pays off sometimes.

I wonder when the best time for Citadel is. I almost feel like they should save it and come back to it after Alex has had time to "take in" the ending of 3, since Citadel was a much better sendoff for the franchise than what we got in the main game.

Cool that's it's coming back. Just a shame they can't get the best ending because The Fish died in ME2.

I replayed ME3 with all the DLCs recently, and the way to play Citadel if you're playing ME3 for the first time is to play the beginning mission it as soon as you get Tali (so she can be a part of it), and then play the final party just before the end. After the initial mission, a new area on the citadel opens up, and throughout the rest of the game you get emails from your party members and buddies to hang out and go to the casino or whatever, and all of those are great. And the final party is a great "one last night before we all go down together...".

The ending is still the ending, and if you're playing it for the first time, it should be last. Also: it's not that bad with the DLC.

@vinny There's a good mod that the community released last November where they ran all the prerended cutscenes through a video upscaler to make them look better and by and large 3's clean up really well.

One Giant Bomb tradition I had hoped wouldn't return this year was Mass Alex not going live when the homepage's Upcoming bar said it would.

Mass Alex 3 episode 2 was supposed to go live 30 minutes ago but as with the majority of Mass Alex 2 episodes, has disappeared off of the Upcoming bar and is no-where to be seen.

For fuck's sake.

*sigh* I was hoping whatever issue was causing videos to not show up at their scheduled time would have been resolved by now.
