I think there should be a quick look of the ps3 version to show people what kind of a port it actually is.

Playing the PS3 version at the moment and from the looks of it and my vague memory of the little I saw/played of it on the 360 when it came out, it's pretty much the same. It plays fine (apart from the combat being broken like ME1 was, and the menus for sorting equipment being shit etc), so that's that :) A quick look would still be fun though, but I presume they are mad busy with GotY stuff.

It's a port. Nothing more, nothing less. From what I hear, it runs better than the 360 version.

@dOm_CaTz: Why? The only question is whether or not it's on par with the 360 version. If it is then why waste their time with that?

So you'd wanna watch a second Quick Look of the same game, only this time it's possibly running slightly better or worse? Or the same even?

@SharkEthic: To be fair, it was never originally quick looked.

According to the IGN review, it's of comparable frame rate to the original 360 version, and you can import the save into ME2. What more is there to know?

@mikey87144: you'd be surprised how many people have never played any of the 3 games let alone the 1st one. It's the same reason they do quick looks for hd releases like killzone 1 and all the jak and daxter stuff.

I kinda wish at some point Bioware does a remake sorta thing with the original with the stuff they have now and somehow fix it to make it a better game. That'll probably never happen, but wouldn't that be awesome? Nut unfortunately this is not that.

@dOm_CaTz: so then why do quick looks of hd remakes? yes clearly anyone who wanted to play mass effect has already but it would be for the people who never played mass effect cause they own a ps3, plus there isn't much out there for comparison out there cept a bunch of hearsay and like 1 video on youtube. With it being slow times on the game front it would be the perfect quick look considering all the game of the year stuff they busy with so it wouldn't have to be long, just long enough to give someone an idea if it is worthy or not.

It would be pretty funny if it ran worse than the 360 version which already ran like shit.

@dOm_CaTz: This isn't an HD rerelease, it's a port. There have been very few quick looks of ports, and even fewer recently.

I made the same mistake. Saw "Mass Effect" and immediately assumed it was "Mass Effect 3".

I think they're putting all their time and effort into the GOTY stuff and you probably won't see new QL or other content for a while.

All I needed to see were video clips of Noveria. Yup, runs just as crappy on the PS3 as the 360 in that area.

That's the unfortunate truth: They really didn't optimize much, it still drops terribly at times (the user interface is unchanged as well). They even skimped on DLC - Pinnacle Station isn't included in either package).

Is that the snow station with the bugs? Damn that was bad. Do you remember the part with the hive monster that was controlling people? JEEEEEEEESUS that turned my 360 into a slideshow machine.
