    Underwhelming Story, Impressive Art Direction...

I was most excited to play Mass Effect because the story was rumored to be one of the greatest in recent years. Suffice to say I was rather disappointed. If 2nd rate science fiction, with predictable plot lines and uninspiring dialogue is your thing, then jump right in - you'll probably love it. If you were expecting a wonderfully original and sincere story on the other hand, well...hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. That's not to say that Mass Effect is a bad game. Everything else about the game is pretty cool, some of it even amazing. The character models are amazingly realistic, the location and ship designs are impressive & the music is great. But honestly, I was so let down by the story. This is not an ICO or a Final Fantasy or Silent Hill 2 or Metal Gear Solid or Half Life etc. It is quite superficial & trite. But, well done trite.

In the d...

I should preface th...
