    MASS EFFECT

Developer: Bioware & Demiurge Studios (PC Version)
Release Date: May 28, 2008 (PC Version)
Distribution Method: Steam (VALVe's Online Game Store)
    Price: 26.99 - 29.99
    Website: http://masseffect.bioware.com/
Game Information: Mass Effect takes place in the distant future (2183 to be Exact), You play as "Commander Shepard" and are assigned to explore the galaxy on your Space Ship (SSV Normandy). Mass Effects main storyline follows Commander Shepard discovering secrets about the "Protheans", The Protheans are an ancient alien race (as described in Mass Effect) and where first discovered in 2148 by Humans. The graphics are also extremely good.

Gameplay: Mass Effect has an amazing customization feature, you can customize just about every feature of your character, including Backstory, Personailty, etc. There are also six classes in the game those classes are Soldier, Engineer, Adept, Infiltrator, Sentinel, and Vanguard. Much of Mass Effect is based on choices made during conversations / dialogue (similar to Fallout 3 and Knights of The Old Republic 1 & 2).

Mass Effect plays like a First Person shooter but most of the game you will find yourself in Third Person view using Rifles, Pistols, Sniper Rifles, Grenades, etc. Combat is based in real time, you give commands to your character in order to defeat enemies (much like Knights of The Old Republic).

    Multiplayer: There is no Multiplayer.

Achievements: There are achievements on both the Xbox 360 and PC version, some achievements are your standard "Do X to Unlock Achievement Y". A unique feature is that when some achievements are unlocked characters you create in a new game are granted bonuses and additional abilities, certain achievements even grant higher levels.

My Rating: 10 out of 10, the game is perfect in my opinion, it's long enough to be worth the $59.99 ($26.99 now) and with the latest Downloadable Content the game has earned replayability. Mass Effect feels a lot like Knights of The Old Republic Perfected and I'd recommend it to anyone here. This is my favorite game, it ranks above Fallout 3 for me.

Mass Effect is one of those games that just went over my head when it first came out. I hadn't tried it until my friend lent me the 360 version of it a few months ago. To put it simply, I played for about 6 hours and realized that I just had to have this game. So a few days later I returned Mass Effect for my friend, purchased my own (for the PC), and ended up beating it (twice).    StoryIn the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the d...

This is a review of the PC port of Mass Effect, which released May 28, 2008.OverviewCover ArtThe Mass Effect universe, as set up in this game, is one that blends itself sublimely into the ranks of some of the best science fiction stories I know.As such, the original entry in the saga is one of the best story-driven role-playing games created; and the PC port fixes some of the issues of the original, while adding some really useful interface tweaks that the PC crowd will love. I should preface th...
