Master Yael

Overview

Brell Serilis, also known as The Duke of Below, has created many of the races of Norrath including dwarves, gnomes, gnolls, and kobolds. His realm, the Plane of Underfoot, is one of a few that have a portal or entrance within the mortal world of Norrath. This entrance exists in the deepest depths of what has become known as The Hole, which is the ruins of Old Paineel on the continent of Odus. To protect this entrance, Brell sent forth an army of earth elementals to patrol the caverns. The last line of defense was the hulking beast known as Master Yael. Aside from his ability to cast gravity flux, launching all attackers high into the air, Yael also had the ability to periodically instantly kill anyone that drew his ire.

At some point during the Age of Turmoil, a power Erudite known only as "The Protector of the Ruins" summoned his own army of constructs. These golems laid waste to Brell's elementals rather easily and even dispatched Master Yael. Standing at the door to Underfoot, the Erudite fell into madness and summoned a golem of unfathomable strength. This new construct, known as The Guardian of the Seal, would then take the task of guarding the door.

During the Age of Destiny, Master Yael returned to The Hole and reclaimed the task of guarding Brell's realm.

EverQuest

Master Yael no longer appears within the game unless you are playing on one of the progression servers during the early eras of the game.

EverQuest II

With the discovery of The Sundered Frontier, which is the ruins of Odus after The Shattering, it wasn't long before adventurers of the Age of Destiny found The Hole. Shockingly, Master Yael had returned to its post as guardian of the door to the Plane of Underfoot.
