I'M STILL leery as FUCK ABOUT the change to some UNCHARTED ASS territory. NYC WAS basically a fuckin MAJOR CHARACTER IN Max games. OH WELL, fingers crossed.

How would they do Max Mayne in NYC now?  It's all cliched to death, and I'm tired of seeing the city during Christmas.   The cops hunt drug dealers, the FBI comes in to stop them due to a corporation being behind it.   
 
If they haven't got it down yet, just let it go.  Go back to GTAV and let me use my pent-up arab rage in those games, at least those are always fun and fail proof.

I wouldn't worry about it. Rockstar went dark for years and years on Red Dead. We all know how that turned out.

I just played through Alan Wake and they basically wrap up the Max Payne character in that so I really dont care about this game yet. I do however wonder how much of the Max Payne or I should say Remedy thing of including dreams and TV shows will feature in the game. Basically so far this looks like Man on Fire but with a fat bald guy.

It's not Remedy and bears little to no resemblance to the original games (which I loved), so I'm having a hard time being interested. It looks like they basically took Max, turned him into Sam Fisher during the Double Agent time period and dropped him in Brazil.

I'm guessing steroids is the new drug in Max Payne 3.

The only way for this game to work is to make Max a totally off the rails violent drunk. Ethan Thomas + Michael Ironside x TEN. The game should open with him stumbling out of a cab and suddenly he thinks the cab driver ripped him off. He then drunkenly rips the driver out of the cab and curb stomps his ass. Perhaps after he does that and is washing the blood off his hands in the gutter, he looks up and sees a poster for Brazil in a travel agent window or something.

I'm excited about this game because I like Rockstar and am not that into westerns so am skipping RDR.  LA Noir and this are towards the top of my pre-order lists.

Are there still people out there who doubt Rockstar at this point? The game will come out when it's done and will be damn good.

Imma go out on a limb here and say that I probably should play the first two games...?

I am hoping for the best, seeing as how Max Payne 1&2 are two of my favorite games ever, but without the gritty New York City setting or leather jacket I am skeptical it can make the same impact. You know what? At this point I am just hoping this game gets released.
