@JacDG: In your game library. If it still appears as Max Payne 3 Pre-Order than just restart Steam and launch the game to start the pre-load.
Oooh, that was the problem, thanks. Too late now though, steam servers are apparently too busy, told me to try again in a few hours.

@JacDG: Keep trying or go in the steam settings in the downloads+cloud tab and change the server in download region. Try another server nearby, it sometimes help.
Didn't work, it's alright though, I'll just download it tomorrow during while I'm at my school for some finals.
@TooWalrus: Dude, use the mklink /J command, I can't believe I'd never heard of it until I got an SSD myself (which was three days ago). Many games won't make use of an SSD's speed anyhows.
You know I love you guys, but I can't help but laugh at you.
Dying to feel like you're in the future of gaming, you jump on the digital game market train, remove the optical drives from your PCs and kiss discs goodbye, and here we are, games are getting too huge to download from Steam and Origin without having to wait a long time (since only a group of us have fiber and speed-of-light internet) or totally draining the permitted download amount and being capped for the rest of the month (since many people have download limit internet packages).
All of that for and for $60.
Whereas I'll be driving to a retail store in the near town and pick up the game for 192 shekels ($51). It will take me 15 minutes to get there and back home, and maybe 5 minutes to have the game fully installed and ready to go.
Get your optical drives back guys, the future isn't here yet.
Well Max Payne 3 is finished decrypting and installing (Only took 27 minutes on an i5-2500k overclocked to 4.2ghz per core with a caviar black )
So far its pretty awesome. There is no GFW Live (though Rockstar Social Club operates the same way as GFW), I haven't seen any bugs, the game gives you the option to turn off auto-aim or target locking, the game actually gives you all the graphics settings you expect, plus the game runs between 30 and 60 fps on my system at 1080p with every graphic option maxed out.I'd like to know how this is considering most people thought L.A. Noire's port was crap.

Geforce 570, 2 year old i5 and running this on all highest settings at 60 (with some 30, but that might be fmv transitions) at 1920x1200. The only missing setting is FOV, but I think the settings it uses for that is pretty good.
Only ugly thing is the hair on some characters, but hair tech is nex gen!
Fuck... so I was at 21.4 gigs downloaded then it did the file decryption thing (took about 25 minutes) and I'm back down to 17.6 gigs. WHY STEAM WHY
@mosdl: Yeah, I was going to be able to play a bit before sleeping but now that I somehow magically lost 4.2 gigs I probably won't be able to. :(
Same thing happened to me. At about 5am, unlock time, it started decrypting with only 23GB done. It would have been done by now if the download hadn't just paused. :/
