Sucks for people without fibre, they won't be playing on time, if they release it at midnight which they usually do.

I pre-ordered the game, but how exactly do I start the pre-load? It just says you already own Max Payne 3.

    Available: 1 June 2012

This game will unlock in approximately 11 hours

New to this whole PC thing sooo.

@JacDG: In your game library. If it still appears as Max Payne 3 Pre-Order than just restart Steam and launch the game to start the pre-load.

Oooh, that was the problem, thanks. Too late now though, steam servers are apparently too busy, told me to try again in a few hours.

@JacDG: Keep trying or go in the steam settings in the downloads+cloud tab and change the server in download region. Try another server nearby, it sometimes help.

@TooWalrus: Dude, use the mklink /J command, I can't believe I'd never heard of it until I got an SSD myself (which was three days ago). Many games won't make use of an SSD's speed anyhows.

You know I love you guys, but I can't help but laugh at you.

Dying to feel like you're in the future of gaming, you jump on the digital game market train, remove the optical drives from your PCs and kiss discs goodbye, and here we are, games are getting too huge to download from Steam and Origin without having to wait a long time (since only a group of us have fiber and speed-of-light internet) or totally draining the permitted download amount and being capped for the rest of the month (since many people have download limit internet packages).
All of that for and for $60.

Whereas I'll be driving to a retail store in the near town and pick up the game for 192 shekels ($51). It will take me 15 minutes to get there and back home, and maybe 5 minutes to have the game fully installed and ready to go.

Get your optical drives back guys, the future isn't here yet.

So far its pretty awesome.  There is no GFW Live (though Rockstar Social Club operates the same way as GFW), I haven't seen any bugs, the game gives you the option to turn off auto-aim or target locking, the game actually gives you all the graphics settings you expect, plus the game runs between 30 and 60 fps on my system at 1080p with every graphic option maxed out.

Edit:  I think that V-sync might be introducing mouse lag, bummer.  I'm going to have a look at my control panel and see if it is just some weird setting I have checked in there.

Geforce 570, 2 year old i5 and running this on all highest settings at 60 (with some 30, but that might be fmv transitions) at 1920x1200. The only missing setting is FOV, but I think the settings it uses for that is pretty good.
