    Mega Man 9

Game » consists of 7 releases. Released Sep 22, 2008

Mega Man returns to his roots in this deliberately retro side-scrolling platformer that simulates the style and simplicity of the first six Mega Man games.

How are the HD graphics on PS3?

I can't decide if i should buy the 360 or the Wii version of Mega Man 9. the only thing that would interest me in the 360 version is if the HD graphics would be awesome.
Have anyone here tried the PS3 version, and if so how does the old 8-bit style look in HD? And are there any HD screenshots of Mega Man 9?

    It looks....8-bit =D

I prefer it on my PS3 though because of the D-Pad.

I bet they look the same on all the consoles. I have it for the Wii and it looks pretty good.

It doesn't stretch or anything as far as I'm aware.

its does look crystal clear thoug, still just 8-bit. just imagine a maginfied ms paint picture. its very clear.

it doesn't stretch. it will run in hd, probably 1080p beuse it won't matter. and it will display full screen, not wide. you'll see big black bars on the sides when you play it.
its probably identical on all of the systems.

but yeah, the game is very bright, totally old school graphics, they don't look forced, it looks like a long lost game, it seriously may have been intended for nintendo and just sat around for all these years until they dusted it off.
its actually eye catching, because these games never look so vibrant before. its definitely the best looking nes game ever lol.

Honestly, if you wanna be able to play the game properly then you'll need to get this on PS3. Unless you plan on investing in that new-fangled XBOX 360 controller that's going to be released soon; the one with the super special, totally rad D-Pad (or is that just a European release?)

Graphics wont come into question for MM9, it'll be the controller that does it best. i got the PS3 version, and the D-pad is bigger than the Wii version (though i don't own a classic controller so the d-pad may be larger than the wiimote version) and it plays just as it should.  8-bit is 8-bit, that's all you need to know.

I'm playing the game on the Wii using the Classic Controller, and as far as I'm concerned, the CC D-pad is the best D-pad of the current generation.  If I couldn't get it for the Wii, the PS3 would be my next bet, but I just can't imagine playing this game with the flimsy excuse of a D-pad that exists on the 360 controller.

The graphic quality is the same xD I'll get it on the Wii cos that's where I have all my retro games from the VC (Virtual Console) even though this one is on the WiiWare.

Its a resolution, not graphics. All three look identical, but the 360/PS3 version will have the sharper picture, unless they changed it because the Wii version doesn't even do 480 Progressive.

If you want the authentic look, you'll need to play it on a standard TV.  I mean, it's 8-bit... I don't think HD matters this time.

The Wii does 480p, but the game doesn't?

I got the Wiiware version, to play on my 576i 4:3 TV, and it looks great.
I got it on Wii because i can play it on the TV in my room, instead of the HDTV in the living room.

Graphics ain't the main selling point for megaman 9.
