Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team DS is a remake of the GBA game onto the DS. The core game and story remains the same but with the advantages of the DS some extra features were added.

    New Features

    • The game contains both Team Colonel and Team Protoman in one cartridge. At the beginning you will choose which side to take and that determines your team members.
    • Players earn transfer points in the game which can be used to bring the complementing member from the other team to liberation battles.
    • The menu is accessed by touching the bottom screen and resembles the PETs of the anime. Players can also select two team members to aid in battle by attacking the enemy or switching with MegaMan mid-battle.
    • Voice over work for certain portions of the game
    • Players have the option to migrate their deck from the GBA version to the DS version,
    • Hidden unlockables and game bonuses can be accessed by placing a copy of any of the older Battle Network games in the GBA Slot.
    • Players can also connect with the Boktai titles for the GBA.
    • Players can now access map data.
    • Wireless tournaments can be conducted with up to 8 players.
    • A new "Crisis" emotional mode is added; when the Navi reaches this state, the player must "cheer them on" via the Nintendo DS speaker. Doing so will grant them bonuses.
