Mercenaries 2 has been in development probably since the first one came out.  After E3 08 I really got so hyped out about the game.  I want to know what you think about Mercenaries 2 and what your favorite part will be about the game.  My two favorite parts will be blowing things up and that it is open world.

I've heard mixed things, but all I really want to know is if the co-op runs smoothly...that's the most important part to me.

Bored of sandbox games. Destroying things can only take you so far. Conclusion: avoiding Mercenaries 2.

I was extremely hyped about it after E3 07. After the developer said on GS's E3 coverage "If you can't blow it up, its not in the game" I was super hyped. I didn't see as much coverage of it this year, but I'm still hyped and I'm still going to get it on release day. I loved the first mercs, and I'm sure I'll love this one.

Nope. I'm waiting for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and Prototype for my sandbox fix. Mercs was a fun game and the coverage of Mercs 2 looks even better, but there are so many great games out now and amazing games coming up in the near future that I am passing on games that I would have otherwise jumped on in a heartbeat.

Mercs looks like your generic BLOW SHIT UP random game, full of more explosions than actual interesting fun-factor features.

Total cop-out to the fratboy crowd.

I'm not too interested in the game. Because of the mixed views the previous game got, I might get it when the price goes down, but I don't see myself await its release.

that game was E3 08 best of show in my opinion. As soon as I saw that nuke go off I was sold. But yeah, it looks sick.

Even though I enjoyed the first one, I'll probably do the same.

Meh, if I need sandbox games, I'll go to GTA I can wreck stuff up pretty bad in that world, plus there's a story part that 's actually somewhat interesting, not just a distraction like it was in Mercs.

    Really looking forward to it.

One of the only "true" sandbox games in the way you are free to choose how to complete missions. It gives the game a more tactical element than the competition.
I got the whole deck of 52 or whatever in the first game and enjoyed it immensely. The Airstrikes never got old.

I dont see GTA4 as much of a sandbox game, it was very story focused compared to the earlier games. I never felt much need to do anything else than the missions.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is looking damn fun and I really enjoyed its predecessor. Just as long the core gameplay is solid and the online action is fun, I'm definitely sold.
