I just yelled YESSSSSS without meaning to. Good thing I'm alone in the store!

Seriously, awesome.

Yes!

And if we could get everything else by Platinum, that would be awesome, too.

As a guy who played Rising to completion on 360, I'm super stoked. Having this game on a high-end PC is going be amazing. Not that the game didn't run poorly or look bad on Xbox either. And I agree, we need all Platinum games to come to Steam now

Don't allow me to get this game. The site can't handle that many screenshots.

Glad I didn't pony up for this quite yet, but I will now for sure.

Now I'm wondering if it'll be made inhouse or if it'll be outsourced to a company that's good with PC ports, considering that Platinum never had a PC version of a game before.

I've got an unopened PS3 copy, but I will happily wait for 1440p and a constant 60 FPS.

I found the game frustrating in many spots since I played it immediately after DMC, but I would totally go back again for the visual panache.

I'd be very pleased to see that MGS Legacy Collection come over to the PC too, though that seems unlikely with the amount of work that would entail.

Goddamn it, already dropped over $70 for the PS3 copy + DLC.

Who am I kidding, as soon as it's featured during a Steam sale I'll be buying it again, but still...

If it's actually a thing, it'll almost certainly be outsourced to the cheapest port dev that they can find.

Hopefully we get a really solid port of Platinum's engine so that all of their games can make the trip over to Steam.

Assuming this will work out like I expect, then I'm super stoked for this! The idea of any Platinum game on Steam gets me all hot in my love region.

I think they finally recognized the good investment it would be after seeing other esoteric Japanese games sell incredibly well at big discounts, à la Dark Souls. The power of digital sales is not to be underestimated, and they see that it'll pay dividends. Hopefully it's a solid port, though.

@video_game_king: We don't know that yet. If something destroys Giant Bomb, it should be a Platinum game.

Congratulations to PC gamers! I'm happy for you all.

I played it a little bit on 360 and thought that it was really good, but never really got too far into it. I can't really say why, I just never felt compelled to finish it.

If it comes with all the DLC this is a day 1 purchase for me, despite playing the hell out of the Xbox version. My one main gripe with this game is the frame rate got a bit choppy at times. (same with Bayonetta, although it randomly sped up for some weird reason)

Cool, I've only seen the quick look and I have no idea what MGS games are about besides the fact that there's a snake, a big boss and stealth barrels, so I have no expectations, I hope it will be fun.

Neat. And good for PC people.

Now, if only the PS3 copy I ordered online would ever arrive...

Kinda of cool but not a fan of Raiden game looks sort of fun though, but I'm crossing my fingers for a MK9 PC announcement since some leaks came out last month about it man I hope it happens.

Yeah, I wonder. I imagine porting MGS4 would be quite a bitch.

Being able to skip straight to boss fights and optimizing the cutting for PC is everything I wanted from this port. Thank you based Platinum.

20 bucks????? WHA? I don't mind rebuying the game full price with DLC seperatly.... which is probably 80 bucks I spent on PS3 version.

I've played a ton of DmC, but reading about the combo system in Rising game (specifically, no dodge rolls and potentially endless combos) makes it very obvious that this game is going to give me a lot of trouble, mechanics-wise. God damn, though, do I ever want to play it.

@the_nubster: There is a dodge, it just happens to also be an attack.

by the way..... anyone know who's porting this over? Kojima pro has been leaking the news there's a PC port coming but they have like 3rd party devs handle that like Bluepoint Games and Armature Studios

This game is so great. It manages to simultaneously be one of the dumbest games ever made (but good, MGS dumb!), and honestly, one of the smartest games to come out recently. Some of the codec conversations in the game explore some pretty advanced stuff like Von Neumann architecture, drawbacks to quantum computing and AI in general, etc. This in a game where Raiden disguises himself as a mariachi to blend in with the locals in Mexico.

It may play a lot differently, but it's up there with MGS 3 as one of the best game in the series and it's my personal GOTY.

£13 O.O That's a fucking bargain, I have an xbox controller so even if the port is shakey I can't go wrong for £13... right?
