Good to see the FOX Engine being put to good use.

There's a new trailer for the new incredible line of MGS pachinko machines, with almost unbelievably good-looking re-renditions of a lot of classic MGS3 moments. As one of my friends said, it feels like someone used a monkey's paw to make a wish for a full HD remake of MGS3 in the FOX Engine.

It's ultimately a dumb thing, but when you see comparison shots like the one below, it's not that difficult to think that we are truly living in the darkest timeline.

Man, Volgin goes from silly-looking to a bad motherfucker. At the very least, what I'm getting out of these trailers is akin to those "hey, here's Zelda in Unreal 4!" videos.

So what's stopping them from just pulling a Halo: Anniversary and putting this over the original game? Seems like they've done so much of the work already. Assuming it's real-time FOX engine and not just straight CG?

Also, it just kills me even more that we won't see a ZOE 3.

Man, now I really want a MGS 3 remake with these graphics. Too bad that will never happen.

I think that's the worst thing about this. It could have just been generic, mediocre CGI. But no, it had to look good, for whatever cruel reason.

What else are they going to do with the Fox engine besides roll it out for PES? I'm curious to see how much a patchislot machine costs, now. Because that all looks expensive. Good on Konami for at least going for it.

Ideally you would be winning money (well, metal balls you can exchange for tokens/prizes that are then exchanged for money). Odds are against it though so might as well have some cool stuff onscreen - regular slot machines are pretty extravagant these days too.

This is the most depressing thing. If it looked like crap, that would be one thing, but to look SO AWESOME and just be for a dumb slot machine is absolutely maddening. I never even knew I wanted remakes of anything outside of the MSX games, but this single-handedly changed my mind. DANG IT.

Just apply the new engine to the game. Use all original voice work and sound efx to save money I wouldn't care. Omg it would be amazing.

Can you imagine that fight with the end with a fully detailed jungle instead of the flat grass texture? My lord I might kill a man to get this game made...

This is so upsetting on so many levels.

I'm amazed at how much reused animation. Like the clothes flapping in the halo jump are like nothing has changed. I'm going to bet money, those models are the HD models uses in the 2012 3DS campaign ads. I'm really digging those Viewtiful Joe sequences and wish that was a game unto its own.

They pretty much just put Fox Engine textures on-top of MGS3's already existing mo-cap work.

Honestly, I hope all they're doing with this is pachi-slot machines, I don't actually want them to mess with the actual games. Remember how everyone loved the Silent Hill HD remaster?

Guys, grow up. We got all the Metal Gear we could ever want.

I dunno. That sounds pretty rad. We've already seen Konami release 30 Metal Gear games and 38 Castlevanias. That's plenty. Perhaps too much. Nobody makes games forever, especially if they have other, more lucrative interests. I'd argue the only reason Capcom put games out is because they have no alternative.

This looks like a slot machine, not pachinko. Konami is making branded slots now?

Someone recorded 40 min of the remastered cutscenes. It looks pretty good. There's also more content on the games website.

I prefer the cartoon look of the first Volgin to be honest. This game really doesn't need a remake.
