An emotional rollercoaster ride of a video game

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a game that will split many people. The series way of telling a story has always been strange, but compelling for those that really get into it, and with MGS4 it's no different. MGS4's story is the single most compelling time i've ever had playing a video game. The story had me at every twist & turn and had me in tears at least 4 times. Not everyone is going to have that experience, but I did and any game that can do that to someone deserves high praises. The acting, writing, and cinematography is better than the previous games combined, but still has a few awkward moments that when looked at in combination with the rest of the game don't hurt it one bit. The core gameplay is fairly similar to the previous Metal Gear's with a few twists, but on the whole you've played it before. On it's own this would be disappointing for other games, but as with every MGS the story and small gameplay tweaks create a game greater than the sum of its parts. I highly recommend everyone give it a chance.

MGS4 blurs the line between cinematography and gameplay. 0

Metal Gear Solid has always been praised (and sometimes bashed) by it's long cutscenes, movie-style cinematography and mind bending plot twists. Metal Gear Solid 4 continues this trend by not only reaching this goal, but by blasting it into hyper-space. But what hasn't been done well in a Metal Gear Solid game is a perfect control system, an in-depth and varied gameplay and intense action, to which Metal Gear Solid 4 not only improves upon these elements, but perfects them.Snake's final chapter ...
