First part of the feature tomorrow morning, excited to see how this plays out. Should be great!
Metal Gear Solid
A part of the Metal Gear series, often also considered its own series all the same.
"Metal Gear Scanlon" Its Happening!
It's exciting news, to be sure! Those two are my new favorite Quick Look duo (not counting anything with Vinny), and MGS is my favorite series, so I am HYPED.
Note: It is a PREMIUM FEATURE, people. Keep that in mind.

Right there witcha!
Oh, I moved this to the Metal Gear Solid forum, because it is about a specific thing (but I secretly did the franchise, not the game, in the hope that they move on to MGS2 when they finish MGS1).
Well, it's not really an Endurance Run. Thanks to promises they made way back when they can't make those premium only, so much like Brad's DMC adventures, this is not an Endurance Run.
@make_me_mad: I'm not sure that anybody called it an ER...
I am not much of a Metal Gear Solid fan (played the second and fourth and didn't finish either), but this duo may bring the perfect opportunity to see what these games are really about without having to play them. Pretty excited for this!
The users hoped for a feature and it came to be? This is the dawn of a new age for the giant bomb forums.
P5 ER 1000 times.
I know the duders are tired of hearing "Endurance Run!" but I enjoy those so much that I want them to be a constantly ongoing thing. I want one endurance run going every day of the year. Split them up and rotate the pairs of players so they each do one endurance run every year or less. And then charge for it. Make it premium content at the least. I'd even pay extra for that content. If it's something that is such a hassle to produce, then make it a money-making production. I would pay another $5/mo just to get another hour or so of new ER content each day. I bet a lot of others would, too.
I doubt they'd do this. It's just a fan request. But I'd pay for it. And if they don't, that's fine, too :D
Great now we just have to find out what the crazy thing people were saying Drew was up to. Unless that is this but I doubt that.
We're calling it Metal Gear Scanlon. Playing the PS1 Classic version of Metal Gear Solid on PS3. Thinking 1-2 eps/week. 1st ep is not live.

Oof, you played the wrong two Metal Gear Solid games. I don't care what Jeff says, one and three are where it's at.
@kevin_cogneto: Everyone either likes even or odd numbered MGS games, so here's my dissenting opinion:
2 and 3 are the best. Fuck 1 and 4
I can't wait for the combination of Drew struggling against outdated stealth mechanics and Dan's unconquerable enthusiasm.
I'm trying to think of the last time Drew played a mainstream game on video (that wasn't just a UPF multiplayer-fest), and I am coming up completely short.
He is a video production guy first and foremost (especially in between when Vinny left and when Jason was hired) so they only bring him out to cover games that nobody else can.
Oh, oh, oh, I SEE WHAT'S GOING ON HERE.
No more endurance runs allowed anymore, so instead we're giving them different names.

Aye, I just think it'll be interesting to see if he would enjoy something like this or not, since it's definitely not his usual style.
I've never played Metal Gear Solid before, so I'm actually pretty excited to watch this. Maybe I'll play along or something.
I'd be interested to see if they could genuinely defend this not being a Endurance Run and that they didn't just alter it slightly to be able to charge for it.

Episodes past the first could be live, which sounds like a good enough distinction to me.
As another person who has never played a Metal Gear game before, I am very much excited. Wait, I take that back. I rented the NES one as a kid, accidentally changed the radio frequency and couldn't figure out what it was, then gave up on it and was totally out of console gaming when Solid came around (too busy chasing "babes"). So this will be a whole new world of references I'll finally understand! Cardboard boxes and exclamation points, HO!
