Wait, blue name and you hadn't played an MGS game yet?  I've played through the first 3 and never even owned a Sony console!  They're amazing and I hope I can play MGS4 at some point.

mgs1 and most of mgs2 are great, but fuck man, metal gear solid went full retard after that.

I will now tell you that MGS4 retcons everything awesome about all its predecessors.
 
Also, it answers all the questions and explains everything supernatural. The answer to both, always, is "Well... er, nanomachines!".

I constantly cite MGS3 as my favorite game of all time, and most of my friends are like 'why?'. I think a lot of it has to do with the way that I played the MGS series, and my love of the little things in the series that stand out. MGS3 completely changed how I viewed a lot of things about games.

Fuck MGS 2 and 3. Go straight to VR missions.

MGS1 is really fucking good but the rest of the series is just a bunch of masturbatory, indulgent cutscenes with some decent but aged gameplay in between.

MGS3 is the best in the series.
