I've been watching an on-going Let's Play of Metro 2033, because I'll never play it myself. All I can say is, that game can be quite ruthless, you will die, A LOT.

Metro 2034 Is Coming And Will Be In 3D
Metro 2033 was alright, it was a competent shooter but there were a few things I didn't like such as gun accuracy, A.I. and escorting missions that had me restarting over and over again. The atmosphere was good though. I'm hoping 2034 will be a better shooter with a lot more improvements.
" @JamesKond said:It really depends on your standards for being impressed. Avatar and How to Train Your Dragon are most definitely not the "only ones to have done it well." The first film I've seen that really did it correctly was Pixar's Up. Totally restrained, very subtly applied and that's why it worked. The same is true for Avatar, though I get the feeling that a lot of people miss the reason it worked so well there because it's the most out of control animated spectacle ever produced." I just saw my first 3D film and I'll tell you: Not impressed. "What movie? It really depends on the movie if you want to be impressed. By all accounts Avatar and How to Train Your Dragon are the only ones to have done it well so far. "
I'm curious what people who aren't impressed by subtle, convincing depth in movies are looking for from such films. When done well it looks better than the same film in 2D so what's not to like about it? At least when it comes to movies with their inexpensive, light-weight polarized lenses. I'm definitely not in the camp advocating active shutter. That shit is way too expensive and gives an unacceptably large portion of the population headaches.
And as a random side note on the future of 3D films, we might also finally get actresses who don't have to starve themselves to look thin on camera and the ones who already have might need to eat a cheeseburger and drink a few beers so as not to creep out the audience.
I better not be playing as Artyom because he died in the book Metro 2033, Of course he didnt save the dark ones in the book either...
SPOILER ALTERT
Artyom is contacted by the dark ones throughout the game because all they want is peace with their human brothers and sisters, twords the end of the game you kill one and he says "He does not understand, we only desire peace." If the player shoots the missle launch system then you get the good ending, if the player does not you get the bad ending. The good ending is the ending that most closly reflects the book.
Not anything new for PC gamers. I just finished up Metro 2033 in 3D, the game engine already works flawlessly with nvidia 3D vision.
Brad is totaly right in his assumption. Looking through the gas mask, the dark long corridors, laser sighted weapons, no HUD, and horror atmosphere make it the best 3D game I've played so far. (batman AA close 2nd, Bad Company 2 3rd). Haters gonna hate, but 3D is a perfect fit for these horror, tense, atmospheric games.

" @LeBart said:No. :)" @Laketown said:Shut the fuck up:) "" @dido85 said:That's still a stupid name. :) "" just finished 2033.. it's good got some flaws... but was pretty funbut metro 2034.. I don't know man just don't like the name .. "that's the name of the book sequel :P "
" @wiII said:Yeah racing is another good game type for 3D. Being a early 3D adopter I've gotten a good taste for what works and what doesn't. I crank the 3D depth up to the max in atmospheric games, and racing. But lower it or even turn it off if I play something menu heavy or competitive. Thats the big thing people tend to over look, just like the 3DS you can dial the effect down or even turn it off at any point. Plus on PC you even have control of convergence letting you deceid how much pop out vs in there is. I hate pop out, so I set it so everything goes into the screen, making my TV more like a window into the game world." Not anything new for PC gamers. " @Laketown said:I agree, however, I feel that this game, in its atmospheric glory, could really benefit from 3D. Not that I'll play it in 3D though, don't have the cash for that." I am so psyched for this, metro 2033 is one of my games of 2010 and I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel. 3d, eh, whatever, I don't care "My feelings exactly. "
