Special Appearances

Smash Series

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Outside of Pokemon, Mewtwo has made an appearance as a playable character in Super Smash Bros Melee for the GameCube. Ironically, despite being one of the toughest Pokémon in the series, Mewtwo was deemed low tier due to light weight, poor attack options, and large build.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Mewtwo was dropped in its sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Although he still appears as a trophy in game, it is spiritually succeeded by the fan-popular Lucario. Lucario had a few similar moves to Mewtwo (namely, Aura Sphere being like Shadow Ball, and his recovery move not having damage) with some new additions and is considerably faster.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U

Mewtwo is available as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. for players who purchased both versions. Currently, his release is slated for Spring 2015.

Pokémon HeartGold\SoulSilver

After earning all Kanto badges, the player gains access to Cerulean Cave. Deep within the cave, like in Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen, players are capable of encountering Mewtwo. At Level 70, it sure will make a dent to even the strongest Pokémon team willing to face him off.
