    Mike Kulas worked on various versions of the Flight Simulator games before venturing on to become a cofounder of Parallax Software in 1993. After the creation of Descent 2 Parallax Software was split into two development studios, one of which was founded by Kulas, Volition Inc.

    In May 2, 2011, nearly 18 years after cofounding Parallax Software, Kulas stepped down from his position as president of Volition Inc. He is succeeded by Dan Cemak, Volition's vice president of development since 2003.
