Microsoft Corporation
A multi-national tech company best known for their Windows and Xbox lines of software and hardware. Prior to establishing the Microsoft Games division, the company's software group published several games and multimedia software for their Windows operating system, sometimes including them in the OS itself.

Overview
Prior to the formation of the company's Microsoft Games (later Xbox Game Studios) division in March 2000, Microsoft Corporation handled game publishing themselves (which were sold similar to their other published software), often through a small internal "Games Group" team. Microsoft also developed some smaller games in-house, which were included either in multiple versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system or as part of the Microsoft Entertainment Pack (Franchise) collections. Several games in the mid-1990's were released under the company's "Microsoft Home" brand.
