Project Natal is now called Kinect: We're hearing that Microsoft's motion-sensing Project Natal add-on for the Xbox 360 will be officially renamed Kinect. While it's possible that the news won't hit until tomorrow, our money is on the name popping up tonight during Microsoft's big show. There are also trademarks for the term.

Microsoft to unveil a smaller black Xbox 360 this week: Not only have a number of our sources been telling us that a mini-Xbox 360 is coming, but now ads for the device appear to be popping up on some international sites. The ads say it is compatible with "Kinect" and that it sports a 250GB harddrive.

But like others said. If its slim. Older hard drives wont work. All the stuff people have saved might be lost. Not to mention it really does not look "That" much smaller. Its also including Wifi which it should have had for a long time

There isn't any reason for most people to upgrade anyway, this might just be to push Kinect.

The big thing to notice is how they too have moved away from the big curves in design. Less Apple and more top end PC design looks.

But not all data is transferable via USB stick. Perhaps each Xbox 360 Slim would come with that "transfer cable" that you get when you buy a new 360 so that you can transfer all the data from your old 360 to your new Slim one.

I think the 360 slim is such an amazing idea. Microsoft is so smart on this... They'll get everyone to toss their loud ass 360 for the quiter and sleeker model! Man, money train, here it comes.

I showed my friend this. And well...she right off said " MS can suck it and I hope their sales suck" There is no reason to make something like this. The PS3 Slim was a stretch.

And ya. I bet the USB thing was for this. Course. How much do you have on your 360? How big of a stick will you need to move it? That would cost a chunk to get a decent sized Flash drive.

@The_Laughing_Man: From the measurements a did in photoshop it's not smaller or slimmer by any significant amount, the add does say that it comes with a 250gb drive so there's no need for the older drives what I find strange is the fact there's no usb or memory units slots on the front, is MS finally going to start using cloud base storage for the xbox?

Counting only saves, everything fits on my 256MB memory unit. But counting actual games and install data I've filled up my 20 and upgraded to a generic 120.

I've got some demos and arcade games on my 8gb sandisk usb drive for the one in the other room and they play just fine off it. If I'm not mistaken the only thing you can't put on a USB stick is a full disc game. And since the only "full" games that you don't need a disc in the drive for are Games On Demand games (which new buyers won't have any of), that seems like a relatively small segment of the consumer base to screw in the long run.

I mean old 360 owners looking to buy a new one will be slightly inconvenienced by either having to re-download the big games or use the transfer kit.

That makes sense to me. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they offered some type of trade in discount for returning your old MS branded HDDs.

It does not look slim at all. Not USB/Memory ports...and about the hardrive..is it internal? Or hidden on the top.
