Overview

Mighty No. 9 is a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer developed by Comcept and Inti Creates, coming to a wide range of platforms in 2016. The project is helmed by ex-Capcom designer Keiji Inafune, creator of Mighty No. 9's main source of inspiration, the Mega Man series. The handheld versions for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita are developed by Engine Software.
The project was funded via Kickstarter and PayPal, raising over $4 million altogether and becoming one of the most successful funding campaigns in Kickstarter's history.
Development
Crowdfunding Campaign

Mighty No. 9 reached its $900,000 Kickstarter funding goal within two days of being announced at PAX Prime 2013. It went on to raise over $3.8 million through Kickstarter, with additional donations through PayPal bringing the funding total over $4 million.
Stretch goals included Mac and Linux versions which have since been unlocked. Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 ports are included in a stretch goal of $2,200,000. PS4 and Xbox One versions had been added as a stretch goal of $3,300,000 and handheld versions on PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS were behind the $3,500,000 stretch goal, which was achieved near the end of the campaign.
Community interactions and localization are being handled by 8-4, Ltd.
